I don't want that. That's why I selected OFFLINE mode - so my bandwidth isn't wasted on pointless stuff.
Then block steam.
Why does it have to be one or the other? What if I just want to enjoy my games while also chatting to a friend, on a limited bandwidth connection which I don't want to waste on unknown and probably pointless data which Steam decides to send in the background? Who cares if other programs do it, why does that make it right? I wouldn't complain, but it's literally called OFFLINE MODE which implies it's ... you guessed it - offline.
you okay bud?need a pill?
just disconect to the internet, there you goes, you got your offline mode, setting your status to offline will disconect you from chat and friends, why would it called offline if it not doing that
There are other chat programs besides Steam, "bud".
if you still too much of a idiot,go invisible, disable auto updating games if you can find out how or just do something about in the settings and turn off cloud save syn, beside that steam doesn't sent you ♥♥♥♥
No need to get emotional and call people names. Simply read the thread post by post carefully. I can summarize if you are finding reading difficult: I'm a limited bandwidth connection and want to play Steam OFFLINE (meaning, it doesn't use my precious bandwidth) while also using chat, email programs, etc. It would be nice if OFFLINE mode was truly offline, i.e. not sending unwanted Internet traffic. Okay?
I'm not even on Windows, genius.
