i'm sure you could get a bigger sense of "accomplishment" dealing with cards in real life if that's your thing......
Steam level does not show our seniority in first place, because exp that we get from seniority (years of service, games owned, community badge, event badges) is too low compared to exp from card badges. Those card were just from market, we do not put hours ingame to get them. We don't even play them at all. In my opinion, exp from event badges still worth more than exp from cards.
Also, everyones acting as if they didn't buy games aswell, to raise the capacity thus allowing them to upgrade there level
That is a good spirit.
Found a game for $0.59, that has 10 cards to complete the set, each card averages $0.04. Complete 5 sets and you get 500xp. That's $2.59/500xp =
$0.01 per 2xp
You went up 20 levels, so from lvl 20-40, that's about 7k xp. Given the cost of 2xp per penny, that's about $35 of cheap cards and about 14 games designed to rank you up. Games that you'd never play. Games that'd take up space in your Library. Games that you can't gift away.
You spent $1.33 instead of $35.
Overally, I wouldn't feel guilty. I say you won the game.
