the keys from in-game purchase can be sold on market straight away before this (grand prix day 4), valve has solved this issue by adding 7 days restriction

So key resellers don't get 100,000 levels.

To the best of my knowledge it was capped because some people found an exploit and were leveling the badge to crazy levels that should not have been possible.

No,some people really abused it
That's why Steam took action to prevent it to happen again

I don't know what the reasons for it were exactly, it was just mentioned in the update news (day 4 I think) that they would honor any badges over level 2000 earned legit before that day but were removing badges from users achieved via exploits.

Exploiters bought csgo keys (in-game purchase) to get a lot of tokens, then re-sell them on market to get their money back. It means that they spent less money, gained more tokens. Yeah this is legit, so valve wont take any action towards them

I can still use that exploit 2 days ago.

yes, u're right. I was wrong. I tried myself buying 1 csgo key from in-game store just now n got 618 tokens (RM10.50) which is RM1 = 59 tokens based on my currency, the key can be sold on market right away. So, I managed to get back RM9.70.

RM10.50 - RM9.70 = RM0.80. For only RM0.80 spent, I can have 618 tokens (~$0.20 USD = 618 tokens).

I thought valve actually fix this issue. they only limit the event badge levels.

Wait WHAT!? they made it work for micrtransactions too!?!
That's the stupidest ♥♥♥♥ i ever heard all they had to do to avoid that was make it store purchases only not community purchases......

(even a monkey could figure that out)

Why would Valve want to fix that any way other than limiting the max level of the badge? They get money for the key purchase and money for you reselling it...

if everybody use this csgo keys resell method to level up their event badge (cheaper than crafing card sets), maybe it'll affect csgo key price on market because of flooding, then skins will be cheaper too.
