They do have a subreddit on reddit, but ironically the anti-Epic Games Subreddit is about 5 or 6 times as big as the Epic Games Subreddit.
Also most of the EGS Subreddit posts are technical issues with the store or "Epic Good" Circlejerk comments claiming that whatever Epic did was good or whatever. The Anti-Epic Games Subreddit, "r/F***Epic" on the other hand actually covers Epic's latest blunder of the week more often than not, in addition to being home to memes and posts that are just circle-jerk-y about Epic. It's basically the opposite of the Pro-Epic Subreddit. It even has users of EGS asking for technical issue help there too, although the number one answer usually is "Uninstall EGS".
They do have those unofficial forums, but they aren't really doing a positive job as much as an official one would do. Not sure if they have a discord since I don't use Discord, but at least on Reddit they have an unofficial community and an Anti-Epic community which is 3-5 times larger, in addition to being flamed on official PC Gaming oriented subreddits.
Their lackl of a cart is essentially a calculated move as well. It's to havbitualize people into buying.
I'm happy Bandai Namco is still opposed to Exclusivity, hope they, like SEGA, continue to be opposed to exclusivity like that.
Safe to be anime fans for now, but imagine something like Yakuza in EGS.
I am certain EGS doesn't see anything on Anime/Japanese weeb games, but they'll target every games that seemingly going to sell alot.
Them scanning steam actually made me curious because it appears they somehow know which game is most wishlisted .
Steam have always been very open with their api, that's why there are steamdb and other chrome extensions that help with trading and such.Epic also hires Sergey Galoykin, he used to run steamspy, another pos to rival Tim Sweeney. I'm guessing he brings his know how to get all those data.
The only one that know number of people wishlisted their games on steam is the developer though,
After all Epic "who is totally for the devs(tm)" is only going after heavy-hitter indies, well-knowns, and things that have already gotten a good amount of attention.
The DARQ games isn't even released by that time,
I noticed that dev themselves said that their game is top 50 wishlisted games in steam.
Connecting the dots with steam API back then when epic "trying to scan it", it reached valve and they tell us it acts for a login token for each user as it shows number of wishlist, friends, etc.
Epic said they're just using it as a method to scan friendliest or something about old files that somehow went active?
...And of course everyone on the business side is excited for streaming it's their fabled panacea for "piracy" and "empty financial quarters". Most people will sub ♥♥♥♥ and then not use it super heavily and forget to cancel their sub when they aren't using it.
Then they can abandon/remove do whatever they want to with games and nobody has any say.
Delete the old versions of games, make new games where you have to start from scratch.
Heck, look at the consoles, they have that subscription model and you pay for online, but that's what sells.
