once you activate it, you go on the "overcrowded and flooded" queue to purchase anything. hence, from that moment on i have been unable to purchase since it's been activated and i assume many others are in the same boat.
just spend it on the easy badge level ups if it adds to your steam level would be my bet on it.
p.s enjoy being able to buy the games that are on sale. there's lots i want to buy, but due to this "discount" bug, wont be able to buy until the next sale (assuming the next sale works, haha)
I couldn't have stated it better. Get your badge and go home.
BTW: It only costs $150 to get a $5 discount. Such a deal. Thanks Steam from all of us who spend $10 to $50 per sale; only to have been ****ed on this time. Grrrrr.
(And I apologize for the flame, but the level of incompetency in this sale has really irked me.)
With the 3200 points Steam gives just for participating, plus whatever you started with based on recent purchases, depending how much you're already planning to spend this summer you may not be that far off from qualifying for the discount.
I'm pushing broke this sale so I was going to just dump them into my badge, but I realized I was less than twenty bucks short of getting the discount, for which another five off ain't bad, so I'm digging back into my wishlist. Just a matter of adding it all up and deciding if it's worth it to you.
"Are the rewards from the Pit Stop tradeable?
No. All redeemable rewards on this page are locked to your account and cannot be traded or sold on the Steam Marketplace."
So they're pretty much unique items that you will never be able to get again.
Well if you started with enough pints for a coupon it's great. I started with enough for just under 3 and buying two cheap games I was going to buy anyway put me over to the 3rd. Not going to make a 4th nor will I even try, rest will go to badge lvl.
Coupons cost a lot in the other sale as well if I remember correctly. Only difference was everyone got a free at start for their firs $30 purchase. Not having the limit in this sale is a lot better (IMO) since you could use a $5 coupon on a $5 game and get it free (unless you have tax). Not really forced to spend a certain amount to use it. Again only useful if you started with enough points or very close to it.
