Kind of depends on your definition of "old", but generally it's a definite "none".

Yeah, your idea of "old" might help - there's a difference between Space Quest 1 and the original Deus Ex. Also, which genre do you prefer? RPG? RTS? FPS?

The best thing to do is look up the retro + classic tags or just google it - loads of gaming sites have top something lists.

That are on Steam? I'm not sure how "old" is old enough. Let's go with Higurashi (if you want suspense), Planscape:Torment (lengthy D&D-esque RPG), Duke Nukem3D (crass brass action), or any of the Sid Meier's games (Civilization, Railroad Tycoon, etc.).

If you're willing to go newer-to-much-newer, I remember playing Battle for Wesnoth in the mid-'00s (and it's still free!), obviously Portal 1+2 (best games on this list?), Cave Story (fun little adventurous metroidvania), FTL, Telltale's The Walking Dead.
