Crunchyroll Region Block
can someone explain me why this ♥♥♥♥ company does also blocks the stream here on Steam

i found out that if u are in a different country where they dont have the rights to sell their stuff u cant even stream it even after u bought it officially here on steam

for example what if i travel to the USA buy few animes through Steam come back to my homeland and cant stream them is this even legal ?

ive also bought animes from other publshers in the past here on Steam and noone has this ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ like Chrunchyroll has

does anyone know if the region block disappears after 90 days like it disappears on Region Blocked Games ?

I am grateful for every answer.

It's legal issues, deal with it.

how can it be legal issues if its not mentioned on the store page ?

also there are the only ones with this kind of Geo Block lionsgate or Sentai Filmworks never did this kind of stuff

and they also have the rights for certain regions but the streams are working worldwide

i like it how some people still protecting companies like chrunchyroll

No one is protecting any company. We're just telling you how everything works. Not liking the answer doesn't change how it works.

Crunchyroll is still considered a small American company compared to Lionsgate and even Sentai Filmworks. They only have enough money to go around for certain regional licensing.

Licensing is very expensive and even Valve is giving up on all videos now.

It's not Crunchyroll - it's the who they buy the rights from. CR would love to sell everything everywhere - it's way better for they're marketing.

Why would they mention any region locks if the stuff was only available to buy/rent in a country where it could be bought?

As far as i remember you could not even access the store pages of the stuff if that was not available in your country.

I just checked (and someone else can confirm this), but I can't even access the store page of anime that isn't available in my region. So OP they don't have to tell you anything since Steam prevents you from seeing the content you can't actually use.

If you bought stuff while traveling that's unfortunate and If you used a VPN to spoof your region (if that's even possible on Steam?) well then live and learn I suppose.

Well, that really does really suck - sorry man. And you can't get a refund. There's no real advice we can give you, but at least your voice got heard and maybe someone is listening...so take solace in that.
