6000 Max and Boosted Points, 100 Tokens Redeemable Each Day
Valve...are you serious? You want me to pay to increase my max points? Is this even an event anymore?

okay, so...yea i wasted my time playing team fortress 2 just to earn points to buy the 5$ off coupon and now i realized i can only earn 100 points per day and with this pace i'm not gonna make it to the 5$ off coupon. i mean....last summer sale we atleast had free trading cards...
yep
Unless they have ~4k points worth of bonus tasks, I cant get that coupon
Which would mean there's no real point in switching teams, is there? Even with the 1000 points it doesn't seem possible for me to come up with the 7000 tokens I'll need.

Yep, I made the mistake of switching off of corgi. (Go pigs!...)
So i forfeit my chance at winning free games due to corgi's winstreak, for the slight possibility of getting a $5 coupon.

For now, don't switch teams if you are on team corgi.

Ikr... Whats even the point of taking part in playing the listed games or completing the achievements earning points when it does not give you those points to add to the boost...

The bottom line is you pay money for points. The "points" you get from games and achievements are just there to make you feel like you're wasting them. The feeling that your accomplishments might not matter is just the feeling they prey on to crack open your wallet.

Even the sales are manipulative markdowns from unrealistic prices. I checked and many games I bought 6 years ago are the same price or even more (Stardew Valley, Dead Space 2, Terraria, Mass Effect). This may be the first Steam Summer Sale that I buy nothing.

I won't leave the team even if they start getting hosed every single day. I like dogs, and corgis are cute.

How do you even switch teams . . . ?
yeah, I can't make up the 7000 pts I need for a lousy $5 off so I'm not going to beat my brains out trying to figure out how I can accomplish that. If I got at least a $5 I was going to buy a $10 or $15 title that is already 50% off but... forget it. I'll wait till they are thrown on humble or another year. I'm passing on this and just looking fwd to the nicer things other sites have for sale "without lousy P2W gambling mechanics". Steam taking three steps back as usual.

Terraria has gotten alot more content in the past few years to warrant not costing $2.50 anymore.

Sure thing. But only if I can quote you quoting me. It's only fair.

I think Valve needs to take note, people like their points alot, and like to earn points playing games. So they should throw out the $5 dollar discount and infinite steam badge levels (they did limit it now which is kinda late) to avoid abuse...

And then, let everyone gain as many points they want to claim all the wallpapers and emoticons. People would be happier.

ALL I WANTED WAS TO GET MY EMOTES AND BGS AND MAYBE GET A BADGE TO LIKE 100ISH LIKE ON THE LAST HOLIDAY SALE... what Steam gave me...? a broken event that vanished with 5k tokens I supposedly got for having unused 4.5k tokens on their last event with tokens... and no chance to buy the emotes and bgs cause they aren't even tradeable...
Yeah I didn't have a chance of getting that €5 either (or so I thought) so I dumped my tokens in that badge. But then Valve started changing rules, gave us 2000 points, added tasks and now I have 15.000 points after buying games so I could have gotten that €5 discount if I saved up.

But yes I think this event would have been a lot better if you could up your max points by doing tasks daily instead of waiting on that +100 and buying games.

And I thought they'd reset those spend boost points every day so I upped my max boost points to 15.000 only to find out those spend points are permanent. So that was also a failure.
It's better to buy the games u want in this sale rather than doing this shi#

Epic Sale actually had some good prices as well :/ Released games were slightly discounted + £10 discount. Unreleased games were £10 less until the likes of Borderlands threw a hissy fit and removed the game from the store temporarily. What is Valve's equivalent? Put on a badly designed event, store prices still suck (no extra incentive) and a lack of new or upcoming games because they are being released on other storefronts or console exclusives.
Exactly.

I got trover saves the universe for $18, before it released, and I didn't have to wait a week, read confusing guidelines or pray that my fictional team would win a crappy event.
I got Shakedown Hawaii and Hades for less than $20.
Try being one of the people who dumped all their points in on day 1 when corgi was just going to flog us all anyway. I can tell you in the least the rest of the days have been pretty boring and not engaging at all.
