Team Corgi complaining is so funny
They won every single race so far, last one inexplicably how, and yet they feel so victim and keep crying in the forums about the nerf. Feels bad being on the losing side, I know guys. But perhaps give everyone else a chance?

If you didn't get nerfed, it would be just like day 1 and 2 - you way over the finish lane when the others have barely moved from their start positions. But no Corgi member ever complained about that, because who cares if it's fair when you're winning am I rite?

Or perhaps you still end up winning despite being 5th just seconds before the race ends, like what happened yesterday.

Corgi also has an estimated 70% of participants so the odds of actually winning anything on Corgi are way way way lower.

If you factor that it was more or less self-balanced, just poor optics.

I’ve seen this and similar floated a lot. Where’s the information this claim is sourced from?

It was estimated from that.
Yeah, won every race but people in 2nd and 3rd team had for sure better chances of getting their top 1 Wishlist's game, so...

Choosing Corgi meant that you'd probably end 1st in the race, in every race, but with low chances to get a game from the raffle.
Right now, it looks like Corgi won't get even 3rd again, and their players still have the crappy chances if they ever get there.

I think it's something that people will and should complain about.
Valve changed the rules and won't let anyone change their team now.
I think not everyone is complaining just because Corgi is losing. At least some of us don't like it when the rules are arbitrarily changed and the sweepstakes runners are basically deciding who wins and who loses.

I run plenty of giveaways and I have never gone: Oh, hey a friend joined, I should make them a winner.
I have also never gone: Oh, hey, an enemy joined, I should make them a loser.
I have also never gone: Oh hey, I think some people should have a bigger chance than others so I should change the rules midway to change the chances of people winning.

First off, generally rigging the winners would be illegal. Second off, I believe that fairness would mean not changing people's chances of winning partway through.

Unless Steam wants to give everyone on Corgi team an offer to refund every game they bought during the sale. Or make it so that the NUMBER of winners are based on the number of team members (since they seem to be making the effect of boosts inversely based on the number).

That, and winning every single race every day and 300 different people getting a game + winning the Grand Prix which also gives you top 3 wishlist games. Your odds of winning are way higher than that buddy :)

It's not so much that people are complaining that they're losing, it's that Valve has suddenly changed the rules on us and rebalanced things because they messed up that has a lot of people sore.

You wouldn't like it if you were winning and someone suddenly said you had to share your lead with everyone else, now would you?

The point was that it wasn't fair. People had a choice in what team they went on, and more people chose Corgi than any other team. Valve should've made the team assignment random, but they didn't, and now they're changing the rules. Bad PR all around.

What's more funny, them complaining or you mocking them for it?

In what world do you think you're better in any way at all?

Someone had an interesting suggestion that the race graph is actually bugged out and inverted. So the last place is actaully first, and the first place is last. makes sense, the bug happened right before the day 3 race ended. Which is why everyone was confused when it looked like Corgi went into last place right before it ended.. But still won day 3 anyway.

And now the graph is down.. Which could be steam fixing the bug.. LOL.. Or its just broke.

Every Valve thing is a cluster... The coal event and their golden wrench tf2 thing were trainwrecks as well and rigged iirc.

“14 x 300 + 1000” is not that impressive, considering the user population it’s drawn from. As I wit others upthread point out.

See, that's the thing, if they want everyone to have a fair chance, fine. But the heavy nerfs to one team was completely unnecessary.
Corgi should win every race since everybody who picked team not Corgi is a garbage person and makes bad decisions.

You don't really know how many people actually play the game. Sure, there are millions of active Steam users, but not all of them even participate, I have quite a few people in my friendslist that simply don't care (mostly fellow DotA players).

Also, other teams have somewhat equal chances of making it to the podium or not. So they don't always win something, unlike Corgi would.

But yeah, I'm well aware that more people being in a team means that they have smaller chance of winning. That's actually why I picked Tortoise. I was just trying to point out that the Corgi winners wouldn't be as few as some people think.
