Xbox One controller recognized as Xbox 360 controller

So all of a sudden steam decided to recognize my Xbox one controller as a xbox 360 controller

Eh...isn't it the same thing anyway? Like, I have my PS4 controller recognized as a 360 one, but works just as well.

I have the same problem, but my LT and RT buttons don't seem to work. Is there any way to fix this? I've seen similar discussions that say the game might only work with Xbox 360 controllers, but the game I'm playing is Xbox One.

Disable Steam's input mapper, restart Steam. if the game supports gamepds, it will just work then.

Xbox one controller are literally the exact inputs for Xbox 360.

If this is a complain mainly about display the right controller name, I think it's best not to make a big deal about it, or to be ripping your own hair over it.

Sounds like you edit inputs when you shouldn't have at all. But do what Reboot said.

I know this is old 'nd stuff but for my own retarded brain I just want to add that an xbox one controller being recognized as 360 one wouldn't be a problem BUT for some reason this causes a few of the buttons not to work (for what ever reason, doesn't make any sense)
