is it ok if i delete remaining folders after i uninstall a game
when i install a game 2 folders get created:-
1) the game folder which is under the steamapps folder
2) the user data folder which is in a folder that has the game id as the folder name and its in the user data folder

the game folder gets erased when i uninstall the game but the user data folder of that game stays. i just erased the user data folders for a bunch of games that i had uninstalled in the past. i just want to confirm that nothing will happen if i deleted the folders and the user data folder for a game will get created if i reinstall the game

Anything that was in those folders is now erased, that's it. If you want to know what's in that folder, you'd have better luck asking in that game's Discussions.

It doesn't do anything extreme like removing the game from your account or disable the ability to reinstall the game at a later point.

If you ever want to use the existing saves, or view any of your screenshots, *move and archive* those folders instead.

If you know you won't want the screenshots you might have taken, or ever want to play the original saves, delete away. They'll be reacquired and will be overwritten anyway if there's a folder still there, afaik.

The userdata folder contains stuff like UGC - User generated Content info, cloud saves or configs and inventory information and the newly introduced artworks (custom ones), achievement data ... most of it, if not all, should be re-created over time, in case you delete everything.

And as Zekiran pointed out, it's having all the screenshots too, so if you want to save them, don't delete everything right away. :D

i didnt take any screenshots. i also dont need any of the save files that were in these folders. anyway if the game has a cloud save feature then my save file will be downloaded from the internet if i reinstall the game

i just wanted to confirm that i havent corrupted anything in steam by deleting those folders

yes
they are small and may contain saves or config files for the game
if you delete them, then later install the game those saves/settings will be gone

Yeah, but nothing will be in them if you've uninstalled. It will recreate everything needed to start fresh.

If the game has a Cloud save, you can then start up and presumably synch with it to get back any online-saved progress, but if anything changed in the meantime (version of the game, broken save cloud, etc) don't expect it to work 100% of the time.
