Search add friends bug found.

I went to the add friend tag and when I clicked, nothing appears.
Is it gonna take long to or am I supposed to wait for it until it's fixed in the next day?

I have the same issue.
Steam search engine was really bad for years, unable to find even the exact match of a username. I am a programmer myself and cannot understand how this is possible.

Now I'm trying to add someone and the search bar isn't even there. I only have two options available: enter an ID or share my profile link.

This afternoon, I encountered a guy and we played a Street Fighter demo together in a shop. He gave me his steam username and nothing else. So I have absolutely no way to reach him now. Great.

I hope it will be corrected ASAP.

Well, I found out to add friends, it's number codes.
Man I hate this way to add friends.

Number codes?? and how am I supposed to get the number code of the guy I just met today? I don't have any information about him except his Steam username. I don't have his email or phone number.

Again, username search bar NEEDS to come back *as soon as possible*. It's the base.

Thank you. Indeed, this page allows me to look for usernames.
It's a pretty bad idea not to display this link anywhere in the steam app by the way.

Unfortunately, this search bar doesn't find the guy I'm looking for even though I'm entering his exact nickname. Steam really needs to improve this tool.

The number you need is someones steam3ID. If you can find someone on that Steam Rep site, it will show you all their Steam ID numbers. I tested this with a few friends accounts and the steam3ID pulled up the correct account every time.

It's displayed on a main page of steam community. But yeah, removing it from "friend search" was a dumb idea.

I will have absolutly no way to add new friend anymore. The button Game Recent Partners doesn't work after plague inc games.

Also, I run unofficial leaderboards because the automatic ones are full of bugs and cheaters. I have to add players that I can see only by their names, no way to select or click on the learderboard to access their account.
So I have no way to keep doing this job anymore !

There is absolutly no way to know the ♥♥♥♥ ♥♥♥♥ number of the player steam id when you play plague. So no way to add the players you meet, and no way for them to add you.
The multiplayer side of the game was already dying, now it's totally dead, and it's because of steam.

The people who take such decisions not referring to the users have no respect for the players.

No need to be a drama queen to complain about this awful design. Without the forum I would never have found the search bar. And I think a lot of people are in the same situation and don't know about the specific page.

My friend and I looked for this bar yesterday for a long time and we finally gave up.

Put your snicker up in your ass instead.
