Exploration game with a grappling hook like swinging mechanic?
Hello all.
I really like the original Worms game grapnel type mechanic.
Does anyone know of any exploration type games where you need to use a grappling hook to negotiate the terrain?

Terraria if I remember correctly has a hookshot for traversal.

Yeah, Story About My Uncle does come to mind. I haven't played it yet, but it seems to be the main mechanic.

There's also

but the grappling is just one of the movement options, and it's not used all the time.

I know its slightly offtopic but it reminds me of how bioshock developers really messed up a good opportunity to make infinite a sandbox where you could grapple around the entire Columbia.

The first Lords of Shadow.
Some of the Batman games may also have it. It seems like a thing Batman would use. But I´m not sure.
DMC.
Just Cause 2.

I can´t really make a list without forgetting some. Ask someone else. Ha, ha.

Arkham games.
You can use grapple hooks in Far Cry 4 and Primal.

Dying Light has like a weird batman type grapple that you can unlock.

In the new Tomb Raider games you use it on few occasions. :cozysottr:

Rain World doesn't require this mechanic for exploration, but there are Grapple Worms that function as one. (Though you have to get fairly far into the game before you find any, at least if you go in blind.)

They are difficult to learn, and you often fall to your death a lot, but the momentum that you get when using them properly allows you to fling yourself across the screen at crazy speed.

Tribes Vengeance which is free if you can find it.

There was a grapple gun init which could grab onto stuff and enemy vehicles and pull and swing around.

Many thanks all.
Will be fun checking these out :)
Some of the Metroid games have grapple/grappling beam as an upgrade, including Super Metroid and Metroid Prime.

Environmental Station Alpha has a grappling hook. It's used pretty extensively.

Grappling hooks are a feature of the Zelda series since as early as the top-down 2D Link to the Past, but you'll probably be more interested in the 3D incarnations. For example I know it shows up in Twilight Princess.

Pharaoh Rebirth + has a grappling hook like mechanic as well. And again, it's used pretty extensively, particularly since you don't get an infinite height-gaining ability in this game.
