You can buy it on the 9th from Rockstar themselves. They start selling it before Epic Games does, and actively want you to buy it from them instead. All the ads direct you to them, and they offer more preorder bonuses. You have to use their launcher anyways regardless of where you buy it.
2007 in PC gaming
>Crysis
>Stalker
>Supreme Commander
>IL-2: 1946
>The Orange Box
>BioShock
>CoD: Modern Warfare
>The Witcher
I kind of forgot they all dropped in the same year.
Valve, please listen to this man and don't anything. I want PC gaming to return to 2007.
- Civ 4 Beyond the Sword
- Company of Heroes: Opposing Fronts
- World in Conflict
- Europa Universalis 3
- Gears of War
- Medieval 2: Total War
- Silent Hunter 4
- UT3
2007 was a good year.
Right, I will check this out, but I know GMG will most likely have it a few pounds cheaper. Not sure if the CD key will be for rockstar or epic. But I do suspect it will most likely be rockstar launcher
If you buy on rockstar you get 2 games for free. gta 3 for downloading launcher and 1 of your choose from what they offer. Also you get some in game bonuses... guess it worths those few bucks... I would bought it on steam but in the end you still have to log trough their launcher i guess... i pissed to miss steam achivements (if there will are) but guess this time worth to go trough rockstar directly...especially cuz i don't want to wait that month.
You got to do what's best/suits yourself first. Once someone is trapped into brand loyalty then choices are taken away from them. In your case m8, clearly your not bothered about this steam vs epic war thats going on. Good on you.
No dude i'm totally pissed off about that, as i wrote some posts ago. Normally i would have waited but that's enough to me, i never wanted a title that bad since a long time and while i was prepared to wait till late 2020 now that they're throwing it out i don't want to wait a month due to those guys at epic playing this 1 month exclusive ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥. Ofc i won't buy it on epic as i won't buy any other game from them, thx to this exclusive nonsense thay are playing on many games. But for as much as it makes me a lil sad i'll go trough rockstar and take all the benefits. If the game would have been published the same day on steam probably i would have bought it there tho.
Anyway, you get gta san andreas by downloading the launcher before october 8 and you will get in game bonuses preordering the game. Think about it, maybe this time it worth.
That's the way it shall be and the way it will be.
So good thing for all of those who don't care for Rockstar as a store.
I will make sure to get the game as soon as possible here on Steam.
The world of business is shady to said the least. I wouldn't be bothered about it to be honest m8. Only way to stop this from happening on PC, consoles and the world at large is for gamers to stop gaming altogether as all these businesses including valve are all dodgy to some degree.
But thats never going to happen because most gamers don't care about stuff like this, they only care for the games being made.
Are you in a rush to play a game that may be buggy, or unstable day one? Are you in rush to get the worse deal, compare to others that will get better deal than you later on at a much better price? Do you have any friends that's really wanted to buy it day one, only to be possible let down, or such later on? And many more questions to ask yourself the more you think about it, but TBH these days to me only buying games day one are not worth getting for the full price tag, and only becomes better if you waited it out, because like GTA V the online part was meh for the 1st month, and you didn't started getting much better missions, and so on until couple of months later, and almost year later even better co-op things in the game, heck didn't get better stuff until basically over a year after launch.
If you're seeking to buy this game day one, then I recommend getting the game only on the rockstar client as you're getting the best pre order deal, but if you don't plan on getting it day one, then get it on the platform of choice, if you want it on Steam, just wait for it, it's literally only a month, you could play ridiculous amount of any games to choose from to fill your time, or even watching TV shows, and such which I kid you not you see how fast a month can blow by before you realize it if you try doing something else.
Well i totally agree with this. I know i'm taking my chances buying it at day one, but is also true i didn't do that for a while lately and i usually don't do for the same reason you are talking about. This game is out since a long time tho, and i suspect they had it ready a long time ago, they delayed it for hype purposes i guess, so i'm not that worried about porting. There are also a couple of title for the next year i'll go this way cuz i know they have solid teams behind. I usually do not complain about possible bugs and things like that when i buy on day one, i know it is part of the deal, at least now they get fixed. Does someone remember the old days when you use to buy a cd game and you had to cope with all the possible ♥♥♥♥ cuz no fixes were available? I remember i couldn't finish fallout 2 due to a ♥♥♥♥♥ crash bug...
Anyway, As i already told many time while i would pref to have this game on steam, let's take a look at the deal: if you wait for steam, you will eventually have to log via rockstar. I buy games on steam because i do not want to have too many lauchers around, beside i'm fond of it ofc and cuz i think it's still the best platform around. Considering that i would buy it on day one, i'm gonna take advantage of the preorder deal, why not? I have no problems giving 100% money to rockstar, it's their game, even if i don't like the way they are acting and i will surely take this into account for next releases. I will miss steam achivements even if i guess there won't be any and i will miss community, but for once i can do that. If i was sure that steam would have offered me a better deal later i would have waited, but i'm sure it would be not that way, as much is i like steam, the times when it gave us very good deals are gone. What i would like to make clear tho is that in my opinion, we owe nothing to steam, so waiting to buy the game just for "brand loyality" sounds a bit excessive to me. It's not my old videogames cornershop where i used to stop by for a chat with the owner wich i know in first person and wich made me occasionaly gifts or discounts even if he didn't had to. In this case i could have considered to pay few more bucks avoiding to buy it from a cheaper store. But as much as i like steam and valve, this is really not the case. You should buy in your best interest. I refuse to buy from epic cuz i don't like to have too many launchers and i don't like this childish exclusives ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥, and i wish devs won't endorse such a thing, even if i understand they play it as a way to funnel more people on their own shops.
Kind of 'Who do you love more, your honest father who bought you a PlayStation with lots of games (Rockstar) or your mother(Epic)?'
