What's the safest GCFscape download?

GCFscape is a program to open GCF sound files, which are the ones used by Steam.

steam hasnt used gcf files for years. There isnt any in a legit version of steam, only old pirated versions.

I Need to extract the files from TF2, apparently that's the only way.

TF2 stopped using GCF files years ago and went free2play a long time ago. You can download it via steam for free.

Cause the only versions left with working GCF files are pirated ones. Did you check the date of the latest version?

HL2 has some VPK files that can be opened with the same tool.

But that program works with many many different types of files. Not just on pirated games. I use it on .vpk files and my l4d2 is very legit. Even if the game don't use said file i'm sure the program can open the new files the game is made to use. I don't play tf2 but it works on alot of games i have and i'm sure it will work on a legit copy of tf2.

Yeah the program is legit but you saying sure it works on TF2 cant be correct anymore seeing as TF2 doesnt have any GCF files. Has not used them for years.

But he wanted the program and should of been given the link. That is the real true issue. If it don't work then that is his problem then. But people should of least gave him the link instead of arguing with him. You of all people should know this and you know why.
