Paypal
Hello,

it seems that Steam have removed Paypal as a Paymethod. Since yesterday i cant pay with paypal. I think about change to GOG and epic store.

After seeing 2-4 of these pop up just this morning, I'm beginning to wonder if these accounts aren't being hacked and then used to promote non-Steam marketplaces.

I really can't think of any reason why legit Steam users would post this, although it does look like this user has a lot of older posts.

What country you from?
Paypal isn't for all countries as it's not supported for all countries for all currencties, just like how PaySafe isn't for all countries, and same can be said for many other band transfer.

You can try posting in the idea, and suggestion, and I highly advice you state your country, as without that info, they wouldn't know which country you're having an issue in to begin with.

Also FYI there's more than just Paypal as a bank transfer, so check what other options you have, and Epic store also does this as well as not all countries have PayPal as a payment option.

It makes me wonder too, Nyx. Paypal still is a payment option for me, so it must be very localised.

Or indeed hijacked by some anti-Steam people, which honestly wouldn't be very likely.

Quite simply if you can not use Paypal from one day to the next, that's annoying. Furthermore, I think it's presumptuous to say that you know how all Steam users would react. * Shake head * I like Steam in principle, yes, but if Paypal is no longer I'm just gone.

Sorry, but if you are such Steam Fanboys that you personally feel insulted when someone says something against Steam that is quite appropriate, if it is true that Paypal is gone. I find that rather unreasonable. Maybe it's just a bug who knows. Steam makes problems from time to time.

So this a rant wanting a flame war now, or you going to answer my question, and not act out?

Paypal is still a option for me and others as they have already stated.

Services do go down from time to time, regardless of platform, your 100% going to see some form of service go down whether intentionally or unintentionally.

Good to know i feared they removed paypal. Without paypal i have no choice and must leave steam behind me.

there are plenty of other payment methods on steam. Paypal is not the only one.

A company is going to have lots of payment methods because they want your money. Having one payment method would be silly. If you wanna swap platform then that is your choice. No one cares what platform your on.

They're "alternative truthers", spreading "alternative facts". It's a trend, much like STDs.

PP works fine.
So as you said it is either an issue with steam....or the only other reason i heard of is if you had some payment "trouble" (aka chargebacks and such) steam might remove the payment method for one on which it happened.

Just tried it to verify, I can use Paypal and I'm from The Netherlands. Might want to wait for a few others from our area, more specifically Deutschland, to see whats up.

OP may I ask did you by chance using a VPN, or made your account in another country?

Please check your store country in account detail, and ensure you're set to Germany.

Here is the supported payment options that I know for Germany.

PayPal
GiroPay
Sofortüberweisung
WebMoney
Visa
MasterCard
American Express
JCB
PaySafeCard
Skrill

-edit-

I just have someone that is from Germany confirm for me that PayPal has not been removed from Steam. So Again OP I suggest you check your store settings on the account details to ensure it's sets to your country that's in Germany.
