Ban evasion? Accounts joining server with no steam profile
I'm seeing people joining our communities servers with nicknames like "359231356" and if you try going to their steam profile, it's usually a new account and says "This user has not yet set up their Steam Community profile.". Very unusual. Usually brand new accounts too. Here's an example https://steamcommunity.com/profiles/76561198882775895

Anyone know what the go is? We suspect this might be ban evasion by gifting a new steam account a copy of squad, but not sure

It's a brand new steam account without a community profile set up yet.

Unless you know for a fact that you've been scammed, harassed, or given inappropriate links / chat by an account, ... it's none of your business whether they've got their profile set up or not.

If you HAVE been scammed, harassed, or given inappropriate links or whatever, you can still report the profile.

Yes, new accounts don't have the "community" stuff; people have to set this up separately. If they don't, you'll get that message when going to their profiles.

There you go, I thought a "profile" of some sort, even just "age" badges, or set to private, was mandatory. I've had mine like 10 years so I wouldn't know what the go is with a new one. I also thought you had to have a profile if you'd bought a game.

Still odd that we've literally never seen this before.

If you click around on profiles in the forums (you can click the name and view either their profile or their comments) you can learn a lot.
I've heard someone say that the numbers are social media account numbers on a Chinese social network. Kinda like DS friend codes I guess.

That's because people without a community-"id" can't use forums and stuff. They can only play games, nothing else.
