Whatever happened to Machinima?
You know, that company who in the early 2010’s were always at the start of like every YT video, with the big spinning “M” I haven’t seen a single new video and I wonder what happened to them.

Got bought up by Warner Brothers in 2016, so they still make content but under the WB logo.

They kept screwing their major contributors, so good riddance to them.

Machinima was only good when they did those Mario 64 videos, oh, and Sonic for Hire.

So here's what I can piece together:

Turns out Machinima didn't really do much aside from leech off the people who were actually creative, often holding those people back in the process. When people started catching on, and as many people started leaving, Machinima began going after inexperienced creators more aggressively with predatory contracts. By that point, their reputation was already in the toilet, and things kinda spiralled slowly down the drain from there. At this point, their brand is damaged to most of those who still remember them, while being vaguely obscure to everybody else. Without a strong pool of major talent to exploit, they became a shadow of what they once were, desperately clinging to a tainted brand and hoping to keep squeezing it for whatever positive recognition it has left.

Response I was looking for.

They ♥♥♥♥♥♥ over their partners and most of their major series that were under the Machinima name have ended.
