If you refund and rebuy, is it the same key/license technically?
I know you don’t get a key on Steam but does it count as the same license? For instance I bought RAGE 2 Deluxe awhile back but refunded before I ever played it.

I emailed Bethesda to get the deluxe content on my account since there are issues with it. If I repurchase RAGE 2 will the ticket I created have the content linked with my Bethesda account and thus Deluxe Edition content again, or would I need to do another support ticket?

One of the best questions I've seen on this forum. I'm seriously curious to learn the answer.

If it's the same product, yes it's the same key.

Usually this applies if you "remove" a game, but I believe refunding will have the same effect. Hopefully a mod or someone who refunds more than me can correct if that's wrong.

I would've thought it would result in a blacklisted key or something of the sort. Though upon thinking as keys can literally be generated indefinitely, it would be beyond possibility that a new key is generated upon another's removal.

For revoking the game, then rebuying it, not sure, but for refunding it, and rebuying yes you get the exact same everything.

Yeh so in this case, since the OP did in fact refund and wants to repurchase, it would still be the same key.

It's been issued to the account: the account's already been flagged for it, even if the game no longer appears on your list. SOMEWHERE, there's a notice of that purchase.

If refunding and rebuying gave a different key it'd make a great way for cheaters to get rid of third party game bans.

Aye, it doesn't matter if you remove a game from your account or refund a game, in both cases you get the same key when you rebuy the game.
