Hide Currently Playing of myself?
Isn\t there a way to hide what I am playing from everyone without blocking my entire game list to everyone?

It is so simple privacy setting for chat client. Please add ability not to send this info...

You can use invisibility, which you open your friend list, and change current status.

Could run a 3rd party app as non Steam game, like add your browser, or music player, or something as a non Steam game, then run your game, then run your non Steam game, and should overtake what game you're playing.

If you didn't want game to show in your recent gameplay list, then I suppose only way around that is running Steam in offline mode.

But you can make this post in the suggestion, and idea sub forum.

Also if this is due to a adult game, or whatever, tbh don't worry what others think, play what you want, and enjoy what you want as that's kind of the whole point to video games, and defeat the purpose of not playing them, or enjoying them.

No it is not about anything like that. Due to ease of steam:// url usage, and LiveTiles to be used as URL. I linked my applications to Steam. People keep asking what kind of game my JavaBlender is... That's why I want to turn them off. I just dont want to advertise everything I do.

I want my game list to be public but not broadcast what I do "currently" to everyone.

It should not be too hard blocking broadcasting of which app I run/

Thanks for suggestion, I'll post that there...

Doesn't the privacy setting where you don't allow your playtime hours effectively do this? Not sure, haven't tested that.

Yea there no way to stop notification of telling everyone what you're doing, as the notification is a user end thing, as it just inform you what someone doing that's about it.

Now for broadcasting, and getting that LiveTiles, just turn off the Steam broadcasting in your steam settings.

Sorry. with "broadcasting" what I meant was "announce active app to everyone live" , not media streaming.

@CrazyTiger yes, disabling my game list solves the issue, but that should not be related as I'm happy with my public game list. My suggestion would be seperation of these two.

Disabling entire game list should not be only solution, just not to announce everyone what local application you run currently. Because one does not involve "instant status"
