Good games for short sessions.
Hey all,

I usually don't have time to play for more than fifteen to thirty minutes at a time. I realize that any number of games -- even very long ones -- could be very good for short sessions, but given the ever-enticing Winter Sale, I was curious if y'all had any specific recommendations for games which can be played for a short time, set down, and then easily picked up again.

Thanks!

I would not go with that game right now. New naut has some serious balance issues.

If you like "Ball and Bat" type games (Arkanoid, Breakout, etc) check out Death's Hangover for a modern twist on the genre with great retro graphics. There's a demo available - but the game can go from relaxing to bullet hell in the blink of an eye. Its only a couple of bucks and the dev is serious about supporting it. I'm having a blast.

Also good for longer sessions. But you can play a few levels in a short session. Survival will require a lot of time though.

The Bit.Trip games would also likely be good. You could probably play a level or 2 of beat or maybe some levels of the runners if you don't get stuck. No idea about the others as I haven't tried them out yet.

Also, either Half Minute Hero would probably be good for short sessions since the levels are completable quickly. THough they're definitely better played on longer sessions. Buy the second if you get this since it comes with the first game.

Hi, I'm developing Quest of the Hero with this in mind: short game session you can just jump in for quick 10-30 minutes game sessions. It doesn't have complex systems so it's easy to learn but at the same time, it provides many possible combinations.
