Steam can only install games if the target has a Steam Library folder.
Go into your Steam client settings and there to "DOWNLOADS".
At the top is a option "manage content locations on multiple drives".
Create a new Steam library on that Micro SD card.
After that Steam should let you choose the new library as a install target for games.

I don't see that option AT ALL ... Do I need to have it on Beta ?

No, you do not. Even five years later a beta is not needed to create a Steam library folder on a new drive.

This thread is from 2017. All you need to know is any storage you want Steam to detect, must be attached & active BEFORE launching the client, not after.

After that, if you want Steam to see the SD Card and anything installed on it; same is true - SD Card must be inserted before Steam is launched.
