Easy way to find my soundtracks?
Self explanitory. I have close to 400 games. And downloading them one by one and checking the folders for a soundtrack is out of the question. It would take forever. Steam really needs to get better at this.

..... Open your windows file browser, search for .mp3 or whatever else, in the steam common folder. Copy/paste to the directory of your choosing (obviously don't 'move' the files, just 'copy'). Remembering that some games have encoded music, not just plain ogg or mp3 files...

You can click "show in explorer" any playlist, artist or album in the steam music thing. From explorer you can move or copy the files into some music folder, you can add that folder to steam later and delete the game from steam afterwards.

All of your solutions first require downloading of said soundtracks. Which means downloading all of my games to see which ones have soundtracks. My question is, is there an easier way to see which ones have soundtracks other than to download them all one by one? It looks like the answer to that is no. Steam music has been around so long. Why dont we have access to knowing what soundtracks we own!!!??

It's because they are selling the music as DLC for the game, that system is made to download more files for the game but they use them for mp3s. It's the same reason why they won't let you download DLC for a game without the game itself and why you can't buy the soundtrack without the game.

You could open this link in your browser https://store.steampowered.com/account/licenses/
and then hitting Ctrl+F and search for "soundtrack" or "music" and see what you find, that won't work anywhere because sometimes the games come with the mp3s for free and no mention of it anywhere, this is a thing with Devil Daggers for example. They might also put it on on the "deluxe edition dlc".

If they would let you buy mp3s only on Steam then this might work, or if they made some new DLC category for mp3s and made them work in a different way.

Just another reason to buy from humble bundle or GOG for me.

Sure, you might be in a minority though. Most people focus on the games.

Maybe for the steam UI update later this year.

Humble bundle might be best for you, steamkeys and all that other stuff. Pick what you want.

hi
Honestly Steam should just let us download the soundtracks independently like, say, Bandcamp does.

I focus on the games too. But i am just downloading all the soundtracks i own to listen to on rotation with my headphones on the go, i hope steam updates it soon. Its been around for a long time, and nobody really uses it cause its so bad.

This is a bit late, but currently you can do the following to see your music:
#1: Open steam and go to Library
#2: Under the Home button (somewhat top left) click on the drop-down below, it probably has "Games" written on it.
#3: When you click the drop-down you can select "Games", "Soundtracks" and "Tools".
#4: Select "Soundtracks" and they should appear under their own heading with your games.
