Anyway to stop Steam recommending a type of game I don't want? tired of anime garbage
Because I bought the only 2 anime'ish games ever made that are worth playing on Steam, Final Fantasy 7 and Final Fantasy 9, Steam keeps on recommending every other anime game under the sun, most of which is for people who like to see half naked little girls.

So is there a way to stop it?

No Steam does not have, and I doubt ever will, a feature that blocks games based on nationality.

It will not stop until you have played all the Japanese-esque games on Steam, better get to playing

Just get over here https://store.steampowered.com/account/preferences
Then filter the tags you dont wanna see
Then profit

Tags could be "Anime"

Well steam needs to create away for people to block games coming from the Orientals or from the rest of the world depending on ones likes or dislikes. Cause there are different game styles, so it makes sense to have a separation.

No, the store can not be adjusted to satisfy ridiculously narrow-minded people.

To say they're narrow-minded is outright dumb, this is just their preference, they don't like anime type games, just as you may not not Mecha-Hitler from Wolfenstein.

Gah, they only allow 3, I need more than 3. I am now blocking anime, racing, and sports.

Yes. It's their preference. And their preference is narrow-minded.
If disliking games from a certain region of the world just out of principle isn't narrow-minded then what is?

Replace racing with RPG.

you can filter out tags, but it won't stop recommending games with those tags entirely..

even if a game does have that tag, if that game shares gameplay similarities with other games you play, or a large number of people who love the same games you do enjoy them they will still show up

*sigh*, just not a steam thread without someone posting a false stereotype

How is it narrow-minded, though? He's already stated that he's played and liked Final Fantasy (at least those two games), so he clearly doesn't dislike all J-games, just that Steam is riddled with garbage J-games.

I like RPGs, those are my main genre.
Also it is not narrowminded when the vast majority of the games coming from a certain part of the world have something very common amoung them that I don't like. Also you need to learn what narrowminded actually means.

sort of impossible to do, more than JRPGs come out of that part of the world.. Dark Souls as an example was made over there..

geolocking games like that doesn't work, because many different games of entirely different genres and styles can come out of a single country..

I looked over several games being recommended to me. What am I suppose to think when I keep seeing half naked little girls being in the videos or screenshots?

I think we can safely round down 0.002% to 0%.
Also the amount of of garbage W-games is certainly a lot higher.

You can't block an entire region without collateral damage. Shocking, huh?

you are assuming that an "art style" and "questionable scenes" is all the game has to offer?

there are alot of seperate aspects that make up a game, and not all of them are visual.. you also have such things as gameplay, plot, characters, soundtrack, etc..

saying everyone who may enjoy a game does so is because they "want to see half naked little girls" is like saying everyone who may enjoy GTA does so because they are mentally unhinged drug addicts, or everyone who enjoys online games does so because of issues forming interpersonal relatsionships in real life..
