Is Skyrim Remastered Worth It?
I was thinking about skyrim remastered the other day. Remastered is about $40 while the original is $15. The mods on the original NO WAY make up to remastered standards. So which should i get. The original has 40 THOUSAND mods While the remastered has only 5k. Which should i get?

10,000 of which are the sword of uber pnwnage. Another 10,000 are presets for a curvier female body. Another 10,000 are player houses and the last 10,000 is a mixed bag that contain a few hundred good mods, most of which already ported to the special edition, unless they're waiting for the SKSE.

If you see yourself (still) playing Skyrim two years from now, get the special edition. If you only expect to play through once in the coming two months, get the Legendary edition.

Yeah it's worth.

If you do decide on getting SE, you should probably wait until SKSE64 comes out since the best mods require it. Personally, I would go with Legendary edition though since Special edition doesn't add anything you can't get out of mods/enbs besides the whole 64 bit thing.

OP, if you don't mind .. look at it this way;
SE is a remastered version done in 64 bit architecture. (Thank you Bethesda).
The original was a good game, but this one takes it to another level of fidelity that's worthy of PC systems with the beef to run it.
Mod makers are starting to catch up even if they were resistant to begin with. That's just human nature to resist change.

The Remaster is noted to be more stable and will be able to handle various mods later on as the makers catch up.
I wouldn't waste money on getting the old version that's going to be outdated in due time.

Agreed, as time goes on Remastered will continue to be ever more superior to the original. Remastered would be my choice, OP.

Remaster. Maybe a mod to fix the terribly compressed audio.

There is a Skyrim Remastered? Its Skyrim Special Edition, a remaster would mean they actually upgraded it and made it look a lot better, not just put in the upgraded engine and release it without adding better textures and fixing bugs.

But yes, it is worth it. Mainly because of the 64-bit. It allows you to use more RAM the 4gb without crashing the game, so you can put more, bigger mods on at the same time.

Dont get my wrong it does look a little better, but its just a re-release with the newer features of their creation engine. So lighting and other effects are a little better. Textures still look less than 1k and most mods that have a 2k texture blow it away.

If you only own a PS4 or Xbox One and never had a PC and wanted mods then its Definately worth it. Most PC users who owned the Legendary or all the DLC got it for free (cause they knew PC users wouldnt buy it when old Skyrim with mods slaughters stock SE version).

Special Edition is not really a remaster, it is the same game just running on a 64 bit engine.
Meshes and textures are from the old game no improvements there but shadows look better and godrays were added.

SKSE is not working yet so many useful mods are not yet ported to SE.
Special Edition is the better choice imo it's more stable and has better performance than original Skyrim.

Were only some of the sound files compressed like that? I thought it was all of them.

Special Edition has the dlc included and is just 40$. original skyrim with dlc bundle is 40$ and its on sale (normally 50$ i believe) or if you get original and dlc seperately and it's not on sale it will cost you about 65$.

Actually is not... "Remastered", is "Fixed" edition. This edition has NO MANY THINGS more/better than LE Skyrim, but they FIXED MANY ISSUES and the game now is 64bit and runs like charm.

So... and because the upcoming SKSE 64bit release (soon)... aye, it's worth it.
