AC3 is better but by a small margin.
AC3 has a darker, more moody atmosphere during a time when things were tough for the colonists and in this whole thing you had a cynical young native american man (Conner) who wanted what the colonists did only to see it burned to ashes around him at the end.
AC4BF and ACR will expand on the Kenway bloodline in three parts, two directly from Conner and Edward, but we also get a little background on Haytham as well through the Irish templar Shay Patrick Cormac. Cormac hints at ACU as well.
Both games lead to others and a storyline for each. both are as good as each other with their own atmopshere and style.
