Modders have remade Oblivion in countless ways. Their code is much better and more elegant than the source code. Any remake would be just as buggy as the original and divide the modding community. Besides, Bethesda remakes just update textures, lighting, and contrast a little. They do nothing that modders haven't already done.

Just mod your game. You can have a remake today with pretty much anything you want with less bugs than Bethesda content.

What Bethesda should do is port vanilla Oblivion to VR and as many consoles as they can to preserve this treasure and expand its audience.<3

No remake necessary - any change from the original would just invite a whinefest anyways.

Same with Morrowind.

Note to all of you, check out the two community projects - 'Skywind' and 'Skyblivion' large group of dedicated fans remaking both games with Skyrim's engine and graphics.
Install mods Oblivion Reloaded, Oblivion Character Overhaul 2, a leveling overhaul, texture overhauls and Diverse Creatures. Then FUTTONSHNITSHEL! You have Oblivion: Electric Boogaloo.

they wont.. this is the middle child for a good reason.. not a bad game but graphic wise they need to change a lot.. pretty much be a remake not a remaster.. textures were and are kind of mehhh.. body, face, armor, weapons would need a whole remake.. menu would also and map layout and such.. kind of boring looking to look at.. never really like the ui in this game at all..

they only did skyrim because it went all mainstream and madethem tons of money and had more mods and was a lot easier to update. they didnt do a whole lot changes compared to the pc version..

so you can either install a fully modded heavy load and have a great llooking an better tes4 or wait for skyrim version of it which also very promising to look at. whicvh might come out around 2018.

IDK why people are hyping themselves up.
Modern studios remakes things to co-opt them with their identity politics.
They know people will get nostalgia-baited and buy it immediately so they can fund their next piece of propaganda.

They've done this to tons of major franchises already but people fall for it every time anyway.
