A Question About Coupons During Sales

Couldn't find anything covering this in any of the forums, so here we go:

Valve awnsered this question like so: "Can I use coupons on already discounted items? Valve: Coupons are valid on discounted items unless specified otherwise."

So does that mean you should craft badges during steam sales, When you can combine both sale and coupon prices for for practicly free games?

I'm asking because I thought there has to be a catch. I also remember at one point people talking about coupons not working during sales or somthing like that.

Yes, of course there's a catch - pretty much every voucher that you'll see will explicitly say that it can't be applied with other discounts. That's not to say that you'll never see a voucher that you can use during a sale - I had one for Endless Space 2-3 years ago but that was from buying another game by the same devs. I don't think I've ever heard of one dropping from crafting a badge.

So in your personal oppinion, is it better to wait for the card you get during a Steam sale, or craft now for the coupon?

OP. Here's the thing.

Coupons cannot be applied to an item that already has a discount, in anyway.
If there's a store discount on the itemss, coupns will not be applied.

Personally, I wait for the sales and craft cards then so that I get the extra seasonal cards instead of vouchers for games that I've never even heard of. Anyone who's after a voucher for a particular game would probably be better off asking in that game's trading forum or looking through these coupon dumpsters to see if they can find one there.

50% off on the title Hero Siege. Can't be applied with other discounts.

It doesn't really matter when you craft the badge.

Except when you get that free card during sales I guess.
