Pretty much the only games you want to avoid are the following:
* FPS games and anything else that uses mouselook.
* 2D games that use mouse for positioning, such as mouse-aiming in a few platformers.
* Some puzzle, board game, hidden object, etc. games that primarily use mouse as their interface device. And even these, generally are pretty simple click-this-and-drag-that functions. You can easily do turn-based stuff or stuff that isn't very dependent on timing, so most of these games are actually in.
* Twin stick shooters.
On the other hand, here's the kinds of games you should be looking for:
* Most 2D platformers. Generally speaking they don't require a separate targeting thing. This means it's something you can play with both hands on the keys. If you're not used to playing these on keyboard you may need to get used to them, but if you're like me you've played them on keyboard since the days when Cosmo and Commander Keen were on DOS. Anyway, you can generally tell whether you need a mouse by looking out for separate targeting reticule in the trailer and screenshots and seeing how it moves if there is one.
* FPS games without mouselook. I'm not too familiar with the FPS genre but I think there are some older games like this such as the old Doom games? But I definitely remember old FPS games being entirely played on keyboard.
* Most JRPGs. They're often designed to be playable using a gamepad, and most are also turn-based so you're in no hurry to move any cursors. 2D ones are especially safe bets, though often you can make do with a keyboard even in a 3D JRPG. Action JRPGs are often also entirely playable on keyboard (e.g. the Ys games, Gurumin).
* Some older WRPGs and dungeon crawlers and roguelikes may be playable on keyboard. Generally speaking, if all you're doing is navigating menus and click-to-examine objects with the mouse, then you're fine. Mouselook makes things more complicated.
* So-called "casual" games in general -- e.g. puzzle, board game, hidden object, etc.. Most of these don't have a time crunch factor, so even though they typically use mouse as an interface, you can still get by with the touchpad.
* Most games with top-down perspectives (one might call them "Zeldalikes"). Like 2D platformers, they're generally designed to be played using a gamepad, and you should have little trouble with playing them on keyboard. Again, a few may require you to control a targeting reticule with the mouse, so avoid those.
* You may or may not be able to play strategy games, depending on exactly how they use the mouse cursor.
If you want specific games, give me some criteria, or I can just post like my top faves list or something.
Not only does it just need two buttons; it's generally good as a mobile title since it has short rounds and no story.
In general, of course, you could just get a controller and play a ton of games without having to touch the mouse.
