Steam market api documentation?

I'm creating a program to monitor information about the steam market and I can't find any documentation about the steam market api. I know it must exist because so many websites out there grab info from the steam market somehow. Thanks!

Hi, I want to figure it out how to do this too, but aparetly there no API for steam market, I talked to a guy from stem support, and he says "there no API from steam for this, but there "others" sites with their own API and that may is possible you find what you are looking for, because they have a huge pricing database constantly updated, that is legal way to do, just for the record, you could got some kind of ban IF you make a automatic buy and sell system".
