I tried it and REALLY tried to like it. FF2 and 3 (the American version) was my favorite games of all time; but it's hard to keep pushing till you reach that level when the combat isn't slow any more, when you're bored as hell trying to level up to that point.
Skyforge and Spiral Knights are too limited to be enjoyable.
Rift, Tera and SWtOR are all games that are fun for a few days, then as soon as the novelty ends the game becomes mind numbing.
I haven't played Paladins or Smite, but if they're anything like Overwatch, then it's not my kind of game. Not a big PvP player. I love the artwork on all 3 of these games tho.
This.
I gave the reasons for why I don't like these games.
FFXIV has boring combat, that doesn't mean I don't like other games. Wildstar, Aion, and GW2, for example, have fun combat.
FFXIV has no companions, no flying mounts, and is by default very asian; if this game doesn't meet the criteria for what I was looking for why would you think I was looking for that game?
I've played all the games that were suggested (aside from SMITE and Paladins); do you expect me to say, "OH YESS!!! I've played these games before, it wasn't what I was looking for, but I'll give them a try any ways! Thanks guys!"
No. I bet even you won't play a game that you've already played and decided you didn't want to play any more, even if it was suggested to you.
No offense to the people who did suggest these games, but none of them fit the criteria in the original post.
I have a some suggestions.
1. Go do something else. Go outside, read a book, meet someone new or contact someone you know and enter into conversation with this other person.
Find a hobby that interests you then join a club about your interest or take a class related to your interest.
You could explore your environment and learn new things about waste water transfer or even ponder using a map of your local area to educate yourself about urban structure layout or the mysteries of farm management.
Find a fruit bearing or nut bearing tree and consider if its fruit bears picking and the risks associated with doing such a thing {ask the owner if this is ok first}
2. purchase an existing game creation program or engine and master the tools of the game creation kit or engine and create the game that you envision as stated by your criteria in your original post.
3. Wait for someone to see your post and then using your criteria create the game that you described in your original post.
4. Media.
Watch television. I dont watch television but I had heard that people do this constantly.
Listen to music. I would suggest smooth jazz, I dont. But I love the way "smooth Jazz" sounds when i say it.
Compose or create music using your criteria in your original post.
Read a digital novel.
Write a digital novel about the criteria you suggested in your original post.
5. Sleep.
You could dream about the game you expounded about in your original post or anything you wish! The possiblitys are only confined to your own limitations.
Have a great day.
Oh, thank you for your correction.
Both games worth considering
Thanks for the long thoughtful list of non-MMORPG related things to consider.
At the off chance you're not trolling at this point, I'll play along...
1) My current job revolves around dealing with other people, I come from a huge family (at least that's what I found out during our last family reunion) and have handful of close friends I keep in touch with. Even on my off time I enjoy the social aspects, that's probably why I like MMORPGs (like the one I'm looking for in my original post) as oppose to single player RPGs.
2) I have a college degree for working on programs like Maya, Zbrush, and After Effects; and have taken classes on Unity. I've even dabbled in Blender for a long time. Very fun! Unfortunately, I dont have the resources to make the MMORPG in my original post.
3) That would be awesome! Devs, check out my original post post haste!
4) I don't watch TV as much as I use to either, but I'm hooked on Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D This season is probably one of the best seasons so far (especialy now, with people talking about possibly being in the matrix or that game, "Sword Art Online" which has some aspects that kind of match the criteria of my original post)
5) Sleep sounds great!. I don't have much lucid dreams now days, but if I did I don't think it would be about video games, like the one in my original post. I'd most likely be dreaming about flying or other non-MMORPG related things, like your post.
Thanks for your suggestion :)
