Report a translation problem
Also a funny part, as EGS is already paying SNK as this was only one game or seven, lets be real, why would SNK waste more time on this when they are already getting paid, will you do the same?
I read that Samurai 5 and Samurai 5 perfect have endings but Samurai 5 special hasn't. So, I started playing Samurai 5, I beat it with 4 characters on different difficulties and got no ending. I was wondering what was the problem (I thought maybe endings were exclusive to aes and not mvs). I checked youtube and there were actually endings on the vanilla version... in english.
Well, I guess this topic explains everything. Indeed, when playing vanilla on japanese, the endings are there. So the youtube video must have been from the xbox version.
It's too bad that they went through the trouble of translating and adapting samurai 5 perfect in english but that they didn't do the same for the vanilla version and put the inferior version in the collection...
Maybe, someday, a modder will be able to accomplish the same, but with this game.

I agree though, they should've been put back in for this.
As you selected the character, there was an introduction scene. I think most (if not all) of the battles had little bits of story between then.
I think the hack was called ss5x. But if memory serves, the patch was not perfect. There were glitches. So, if you want to find the translated story, you would have a much better experience trying to secure a copy of the Xbox release.
I know there was a rival fight as well, but Youtube only came up with so many results and that was the only source I knew of that had all of one section in one place. It was better than nothing in my mind.
I still think it's ridiculous that these were already translated but not put into this collection. Some folks don't have original Xboxes and it isn't playable on a 360 if the bacwards compatibility list on Wikipedia is accurate.

I believe this channel covered all possible characters.
So you can see the story of the game in its entirety.
As for the translation being unavailable. Well, there are barebones arcade releases.
There are lots of extras that could greatly enrich the collection.
-The option to use ASTs. Many of these games (the first four) did get Neo geo cd releases, so theses files already exist.
-To add Cham Cham to SS4. She existed on a special version for the original playstation, but could not be used in story mode.
-Training and versus modes.
-Theater mode, to easily be able to re-watch story sequences, as well as endings.
-Things like being able to disable items in SS1 and 2, stage selection for all games (including boss stages), easy way to select hidden characters...
Sadly, this same developer made the same move with the SF collection. When the home versions of these games were so much richer. To this day, I am surprised that Capcom never tried to add exclusive portable characters from Alpha 3 into new releases of the game on consoles and PC.
Huh. Thanks!
P.S. Iginition Entertainment was also the console publisher for The King of Fighter XII, which partially explains why the game vanished off the face of the Earth.

Should anything fail, they can always do a new localization, from scratch.
