SAMURAI SHODOWN NEOGEO COLLECTION

SAMURAI SHODOWN NEOGEO COLLECTION

Does it really need an Epic login?
one of the reviews said it needed an epic store account connection. Why? This is steam...we dont need an xbox live or playstation login so why the push for epic if true?

To complement on what was said, according to developer Digital Eclipse on twitter, you can actually play against both Steam and EGS players in both ranked and casual matches.

The only difference regarding the initial question that pops-up when the game launches (asking you if you want to log-in to an EGS account to play with your EGS friends or not) is regarding the Challenge Friend mode.
If you log-in to an EGS account, you will be able to play against the people that are either on your Steam, or your EGS friends list. If you do like me, and select "no", you will naturally only be able to play against users from your Steam friends list (which makes sense: if you don't log-in to an EGS account, you won't have access to the list of friends you may there, if you have an account).

Hi there. The reason why it asks you to log in is to allow you to play against any friends you may have on the EGS.
You can select no and still face random EGS players online.

A developer of this app has indicated that this post answers the original topic.

Does it ask everytime if you want to login to Epic or is it like Satisfactory that asks once then never again?

I only launched the game twice, and based on my experience, it asks you the first time, and it doesn't show up again.
It's a simple yes/no menu, saying something like "if you want to play against your EGS friends, log-in to your account", with a yes or no selection.

You select no, and this doesn't show up again. And, like I mentioned above, from the answer I got from the developer you can still play against EGS users in Ranked and Casual modes, just not on Challenge Friend mode. Which basically means, all this does is "import" or connect to your EGS friends list (if you have an account there), for use in that mode. If you don't connect it, it only uses your Steam friends list.

I can't believe you slipped malicious epic code into this! I had this game on my wishlist and was looking forward to it and now I find out that it's poisoned with epic code. I rather drink bleach and set fire to my eyes that have anything to do with epic!

It's entirely optional, but if you want to be a drama queen about it, be our guest.

This is old but I would really prefer training mode for each game. It would be nice if I had the opportunity to practice with different characters I'd want to get good with. Probably not going to happen though.
