Monster troubles

Imma spoiler this. I don't know how far I am in the game, but one of the monsters is REALLY giving me a hard time, and I can't solve a puzzle while constantly dying every 3 steps.

Also, I'm a dummy who has a hard time battling AI, and it took me a long time before I figured out how the Amnesia monsters worked and how to toy with them, and still struggled with SOMA's monsters after reading a flippin' wiki on their behavior, so be nice and talk to me like I eat crayons but you don't wanna hurt my sensitive feelings.

I'm in the other world, the train station, and I'm just past the part where the spirit lady said she's gonna help you.

I am in a large-ish room with human body pods, and I grabbed one of those energy transfer pyramids, and this floating dementor spawns in and starts searching around. Problem is, this thing just constantly finds me no matter how sneaky I try to be, and finds me EVEN FASTER when I'm holding the pyramid, and I honestly don't even know what I'm supposed to do with it, and am struggling to find out since I can't really explore 2 inches without dying.

The solution to the puzzle, or a more detailed description of the monster's behavior and how to confuse it/evade it are both welcome.

Alright, I'm gonna give you a bit of advice that helped me, and I promise you I'm not being an ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ when I say this, I literally just made a post yesterday about the same exact part, it's just literally what I did to advance past this part.

Stop being a ♥♥♥♥♥, just give it a full send, do it live, ♥♥♥♥ it

She makes rounds around the room, you just have to wing it and hope for the best

Blaaaahhh... I was afraid of that. That was basically my first SOMA playthrough, and the more recent one I read the wiki to understand their behavior better.

Do I need to take the pyramid out of the room with me?

Yes you do. I didn't try this, but maybe try throwing it across the room? I'm not sure how that would work for you, but it's worth a shot I suppose.

I found these wraith encounter to be IMMENSELY annoying

Yes you do. I didn't try this, but maybe try throwing it across the room? I'm not sure how that would work for you, but it's worth a shot I suppose.
