Just wondering...
I first played this game when I was around 10 with my dad, we both had a pirate each and would go into the sea together, the community always welcoming and nice, something pretty much in extinction nowadays. PP is full of lovely memories and I still pop back in from time to time, even after having my pirate deleted countless times due to inactivity, and somehow there's still enough people to keep the game alive.

I was wondering, how difficult would it be for the dev team to try and get a kickstarter going or something of sorts, hire a couple programmers to help them translate the game to a newer engine, with proper support for everything that has changed throughout the years, and give this game some new life. I would love it if something like that happened, and I'm sure many of you as well, this game is unique and the way it involves the playerbase in all aspects is something that I am yet to see done correctly in other games.

so, three rings was bought by SEGA, added a bunch of microtransactions to most three rings properties, killed whirled, and sold it off to grey havens, who basically just keeps the lights on these days. it was the corporate version of 'here's your controller back, bro'.

there's a lot of us that wish to go back, to when puzzle pirates was beloved by the dev team as much as the fans loved it, and still do.

grey havens was created to keep YPP and spiral knights alive. a big move like that would be a scary, risky venture.

i'd pitch in, in a heartbeat, personally, but i'd be very pleasantly surprised if it actually happened.

They refuse to even support what players they have -- I can't see them doing anything as a grander gesture.

Should have bought it out ourselves as a co-op.
