Is it worth it?

If it works for you, I say it is worth it. But considering there is no pre-order bonus now that the game was released and it's pretty likely you'll have some kind of trouble, I say stay away until a sale/patch.

Unless you like the whole Z-chaser concept, or like the audio sounding a little bit better (especially the voice acting in ZX/ZXA), then not much different from emulator. Though it seems people are already modding the game's assets, like the music.
what was the preorder bonus?

If I remember correctly the preorder bonus was a remix for the original OST but that's it

Reploid Remixes should get released later

MMZ/ZXLC
Pros:
✔ Almost no input lag
✔ Higher quality FMVs for the ZX games (uncompressed but if you look closely it looks like it was also upscaled with some kind of smoothing filter, though not as offensive as the in-game smoothing filter)
✔ Higher quality voice-over audio for the ZX series and improved music audio quality from the DS Zero Collection for the Zero series
✔ Access to the previously Japanese-only e-Reader Mod Cards features built into Mega Man Zero 3 (similarly to the DS Zero Collection)
✔ New accessibility options for those struggling with the games' original difficulty (though the Casual Scenario Mode for the ZX game basically ripped their respective Easy modes out of the game for that, which if you ask me is very lazy)
✔ Tons of artwork and music to enjoy from these games via the Gallery and Music Player
✔ Potential modding support since these are source ports of these games

Cons:
❌ Crashes because it can't save or use resolutions properly for some people, as well as the video codec dependency problems
❌ Potential optimization issues
❌ Smoothing filter is always persistent during story scenes of these games, even if you turn it off.
❌ Keyboard support for this collection suck compared to the previous Legacy Collections
❌ No unified control remapping between series and new saves

Other:
• Z Chaser may be an interesting new mode for those into time-attack/speedrunning
• Still uses the censored English releases, voice-overs are still missing the overseas version of MMZX, and no dual-audio option for the overseas versions of MMZXA

Emulation
Pros:
✔ ROM hacks can restore the cut content from these games' English versions
✔ More options on hand and better keyboard support

Cons:
❌ Still using the original compressed audio and FMVs to the related games
❌ Can be more difficult to set up for those not experienced with using an emulator

Other:
• Save states can be used in lieu of the Save Assist feature
• May or may not have input latency
• Accuracy and performance may very on hardware and/or emulator(s)

no it's not

also to add to the list of pro

✔ access to zero 3 modifcation cards without rom hacking
✔ Modding capability.
✔ supporting the series so we can get some more new freaking megaman games in the future and megaman ZX3 because some of us want to get off that cliff hanger

I'm not having any of those issues in the cons you listed and not having unified controls is not too much of an issue for me. Uhm I see save assist more as a pro because I don't have to manually savestate, it works for what it does and I'm aware on emulator you can save state anywhere and anytime, but the save points for the assist aren't placed too badly. I pretty much picked up the PC version to listen to the music and have the ability to mod things like the music eventhough I'm focused more on the Switch version which I picked up first. This is just my personal opinions and experience that I prefer this collection over fiddling with emulators.

Rom hacking is not needed to make use of MMZ3's e-Reader features via emulation. These can be activated through simple Codebreaker codes, even in the US version of the game, as all of the e-Reader content exists and was fully translated within the game data itself.

Or you could just play the DS version.

But wouldn't you have to buy 3 DS games in that case? The Zero Collection, ZX and ZX Advent seperately? I'm sure that would be serveral times more expansive

It's probably cheaper than 4 GBA games and 2 DS games.

You forgot the con of the pointlessly edited DS scripts for the Zero games. For example, changing Harpuia's line at the start of 2 from "To live or die" to "To live or perish".
