"CRT" shader ?
Hello,

is there any decent "CRT-like" shader available ingame, or do we have to deal with the ugly (my opinion) filter we can see in the trailer ?
(I assume there is always the "no filter" option but come on.... this port is for PC big screen, not handheld console :lunar2019grinningpig: )

Anyway, there are two filters (and the option of no filter): Blur and mild static. I'm not sure if the mild static is what you mean.

I'd like to know as well, and also if the colors can be adjusted. That demo picture with a Harpuia in blinding lime green makes it look like it's the original output made for the rather dark GBA screen. The sprite for comparison

Hi,

Have you tried Reshade's CRT shader?. It's quite nice...

A bunch of good ones VS raw picture VS real CRT:

I still can't understand why they are not included in every major 2D / pixel art game.
Ignorance from editors ? Greed ? They are afraid to pay a few dollars to authors ?

I actually use a CRT. CRT shaders look even better on real CRT's when you don't feel like fighting with Windows because it refuses to play it cool on 800x600 or below. Using CRT shader on actual CRT is like a clone having sex with its much older original and making beautiful babies.

I can't seem to get Reshade to work. I think I installed it correctly (direct 3d10+?). I don't really understand the relationship between Direct 3d, DX11, and OpenGL, sadly. :(

Last time I checked, there IS some sort of CRT filter in the collection.

HQ4X apparently isn't the one and only filter there.

Try DX9.

It's been answered in the 3rd post : only "blur" and "mild static". Nothing comparable to the wonders of a decent CRT shader.

To show what a CRT shader can do, l made a quick comparison below :

(I know Mega man Zero / ZX series are much more recent than "Mega man Xs" but they have the same graphics style)

And don't mind the "Logs" text, it's a tooltip that got caught in the screenshot :)

There is a CRT filter in the game, yes. It's a little bit strange though, it has this odd film grain effect on it.

Nope, this games don't have native "CRT filter", but ReShade works, in case someone else is having trouble with the horrible default filters.
Use ReShade as DX9 and it will load inside the game. Advanced CRT is far better then the built-in filters of the game.

I tried to show in a screenshot the results, but couldn't capture it (an example is bellow, but somehow the print-screen didn't captured the post processing correctly).

It's filter type 2.

It's only CRT on the description, as it's anything like a real CRT filter. Here's the result I got with Reshade, without the Steam compression on the image.

It is a CRT shader, it's just a really crappy one. Previous Legacy Collections in the series actually had better ones, so I don't know why they dropped the ball for this one.

Reshade can give you better results, yes, but it's inaccurate to say the collection doesn't have a shader for it already.
