A question regarding the minimalist achievement.

Does the player's candle count towards the equipped item total as it does for the soul damage mask and ice crown? I assume so but would appreciate clarification.

the candle does count as an equipped item for such effects.

Yep, Scrolls also count. We wanted to make it consistent, so all item slots are treated equally.

The achievements and item effects are all balanced with this in mind though.

Ex., can I pick up and immediately use a scroll?

Also, same for charms which can be wishing welled, and stones which can be sacrificed

Bonus followup:
If you never breach 4 items, can you can get a charm, sacrifice it, then get a weapon instead?

Feels like I've done the "Never equip a epic or legendary" a handful of times, each time thinking I'd messed up and equipped one that I didn't realize. Last night did the "Never equip a common item" and didn't get that achievement either. Maybe these are bugged lately?

I used them the first run, was surprised I didn't get it, then realized they have a rarity too. So I've done ~3 runs where I'm 98% confident I didn't use any Epic/Legendary scrolls. Was super careful last win. Maybe will try again next patch, but was hoping to hear that someone had gotten it recently.

Ended up getting the "No Epic/Legendary" achievement, so must have been me. Still working on the "Never equip a common item" mostly because it's hard to even get a start at it.

"no common items" is pretty easy if you get an early patience after the first room and grab a good enough blue item before the timer runs out (I didn't even get anything special just enough to beat up the early rooms for souls until more blue loot spawns)
