Directx 11 issues?
my specs windows 7 (64 bit) OS 8 core processor 8 gigs of ram and my graphics card 2g gtx 760 evga. When I play crysis 2 i have everything on ultra and everything runs smoothly. When i enable directx11 my fps go to 24 according to fraps and it stay there even when i lower my graphic settings to the lowest of lows. None of this makes any sense... if directx 11 was giving me the correct issues my fps should be alternating in between graphic settings in which case its not. I dont think its my card or my pc specs but the directx 11 application itself giving me issues. Is anyone else having problems with directx11 in crysis and if so any feed back is appreciated

How about manually trying to reinstall the DX files? Most games now ship with a folder like CommonRedist or Support, or something (not at my home PC right now to check for you) that you can manually reinstall specific versions of DirectX for a game. I'd try that too, if you haven't already.

Hey man thanks for your feed back. Im not sure how i would go about reinstalling the directx files but some how at one point i was able to get the frames up to 50 to 60 fps and never again. Its so weird.... Perhaps i should uninstall all my directx files?

You could try; doesn't take very long, but some games ship with specific files needed to run properly. Not all of the necessary DX files are included in official releases though, even though they try to be thorough. It happens sometimes that a game company will tweak some setting or other and they'll bundle up all the DX files used during development and package them with the game. Mine are in a folder named DIRECTX.

I get the same error now. Must be a driver issue or the game just doesnt support DX11 correctly any more.

I believe that Tesellation is only enabled on DX11. Tessellation can really hurt framerates in this game, because they use it on seemingly everything. Waves, bricks, the ground. Everything.

About the only cards that can't handle the level of tesselation in the game were the AMD cards about the time the game was released, like the 6950.

Tesselation isn't the cause of the issue - both Crysis Warhead and now Crysis 2 both have an issue where the engine defaults to 24fps under certain circumstances. You could fix Crysis by pressing alt-enter a few times, in Crysis 2 you have to run it in bordered windowed mode by pressing alt-enter once and leaving it that way, as soon as you full-screen it again it goes straight back to 24fps.

I had the problem on my "old" pc which was an i5 2500k and an overclocked 980. I replaced that system yesterday with an i7 4790 and SLI Titan X's and I still get the same problem.

Fixed it for me by setting it to Windows 7 compatibility mode and allowing the crysis.exe to run as an admin. A bit late, but someone might read this I guess!

The game has a bug when it detects an HDMI monitor, and defaults to 24fps because it thinks it's connected to a TV.

You can set a custom resolution 1x pixel different from your standard res, or you can try alt-enter a few times to go between windowed and full screen to try and fix it.
