Can someone please explain how to alter this/how the mod works to bypass GFWL?

I see it referenced frequently, but can't figure out how it works.

Obviously you just get the patched dll and replace the original one of the game.
Google "x.li.ve.less" (without dots)
No idea if it works with BS though.

But that's my question. My apologies, but it's not obvious to me. Where do I get a patched .dll and how do I know it's the right one/okay?

Get the fix here --> goo.gl/ryd6sC
Just drop the contents into Steam\SteamApps\common\Bulletstorm\Binaries\Win32 and you're good to go

Really? Couldn't even get the right file after so many redirects and adclicks. GFWL is the scourage of Windows PC's but those "driver download" websites are worse.

Yeah, I meant to report back that the link is broken on all but one of those listed, I believe. And that was as of my last posting. The one I found worked perfectly, but it was a bit of chore navigating through that minefield of spam. Lol.

What I don't understand is now that GFWL is dead, why doesn't Microsoft release an XLive.dll that fixes all of these games that are now gong to be broken?

I'm admittedly out of the loop, but last I'd heard, MS had decided not to kill it off afterall. That was as of around 1 July. Maybe they've reversed course (again) since then. Not sure.

And to MS fixing it...yeah. I think individual devs would be in charge of that. This game may never see it. Dunno. I'm just happy I can play it w/o issue right now.
