Bulletstorm

Bulletstorm

Graphical issues
I just started replaying bulletstorm for the first time since hooking up my new 144hz gaming monitor (w/ G-Sync i might add, if that helps) and when i loaded up the game I instantly noticed that the game looked fuzzy (not because he was drunk, mind you) and a bit pixalated around the edges but in the center of the screen (specifically around where the guns would be) it looks fine.

I had already gone into the video settings and changed my anti-aliasing to 8X and my graphical settings to max (my pc can handle practically any game on max setting and still maintain high frames) and my V-Sync on and everything and restarted the game to finalize the changes, but still nothing.

I even went to my Nvidia control panel to make sure everything was set up right and everything and they were but still nothing.

I'm not sure if anyone else has had this problem, but if anyone has, could you please help me out, I want to re-enjoy this hilariously funny game again. Thank you

I tried looking at both ways and the URL link had a more promising lead on how to fix the "shadow snow" glitch, but unfortunately for whatever reason I can't open up the file it had me download inorder to try fixing the problem and I don't know if it's because they had it linked to having an account with them for whatever stupid reason or what, but it would seem as though I'm at a lose as to what to do now.

Thanks anyways, :)

well actually, I'm just sucking it up and playing it like it is anyways. (I'm already at the level just after Mr. Waggleton P. Tallylicker gets destroyed) It's not game breaking and once the fighting starts I don't notice it that much and truly I only notice it when certain shaded or darken areas appear and then I notice it more often, but like I said, it doesn't really bother me all THAT much but it still is an annoyance.
I guess everyone is replaying because of the re-release coming out because I reinstalled a few days ago and am having the same issue. maybe something with newer computers or OS updates?

Im going to try and get past it like you did and hope its not too game breaking for me :D glad i'm not alone though.

seems to be happening with newer graphics cards, win 10 could also be a factor but unlikly since this problem only flared up about a month ago.

Im having the exact same problem. Replacing DefaultCompat.ini from the wiki didnt work. Nor did playing in windowed mode, as someone else suggested. looks awful, massive white snowy pixels in the peripheral shadows. Like vhs but not as subtle.
At least the play without gfwl patch worked! Anyone else got any suggestions?
Buggered if im paying for the new version!

If you got it working then you might aswell stick to the one your playing with until the other has reduced in price. As for Graphics fixes, we got nada

I found out, it's an issue with all NVidia drivers from 2017.

I fixed it with rolling back to v376.33, now the game looks like it should, v376.33 is the last set of drivers that work 100% with this game.

This is game number two I've seen with problems on the new drivers, Sniper Elite 3 is the other game, that game crash frequently with new drivers.

Nvidia really messed it up this time.

Hey if you have in fact figured out that this was the problem, then how exactly do you rollback on earlier versions of Drivers? Also how would you go about reinstall the most recent version of Nvidia so that when you get done playing Bulletstorm you can switch back so you can play other games. One more thing: if you were to get bored of playing Bulletstorm midway through and decided to play another game would you have to constantly switch between the two drivers (updates) inorder for the other games to run properly?

Go here and download v 376.33.
http://www.nvidia.com/Download/Find.aspx?lang=en-us

When you are done, you simply pick up the latest Nvidiadriver from here.
http://www.geforce.com/drivers

As it is now, there is no other solution to the problem, than installing the drivers you need to get the game work.
Let's hope Nvidia will fix it, if they don't we will probably see more older games with issues.

I'll stick with v376.33 for my GTX980TI for now, and not update drivers before NVidia has fixed it or I'm done with older games, what ever comes first.

I take it is GFX issues like this you have.

I downloaded 376.33 and installed only the graphics drivers, didn't do a clean install, and it got rid of the artifacts. Wish I knew what to tweak in the current drivers to fix it, but for now the rollback will have to do.

I'm afraid it is some of the new "security" they introduced a little back, Devs from Sandboxie did struggle to get video works as it should within a sandbox, after NVidias "little" driver change.

For all who read.
If you have issues with a game, like crashing as "Sniper Elite 3", graphical artifacts as "Bulletstorm" or other oddities, and rolling back to v376.33 (Win10 autoupdates to 376.53) is fixing your problem, then please contact NVidia support team, they are nice people, and the more who let them know about this, the sooner we will se a proper fix.

Good news, the glitchygfx problem in Bulletstorm, seems to have been fixed in the latest set of drivers from Geforce v384.76.

I've tested my game with the new drivers, and it's working, no more pixelnoise in the screens.
