question 1: well roots are related to softness and leaves/seeds/some other stuff are related to temperature (it tells you under them what there stats are)
q2: its left for lower and right for higher
q3: is day mess with the rgb values to work this out... but the thing i do know is most of the time clicking the stable of a colour forces plants to stay in the realm of said colour to repel it
q4: for rgb values look at answer to q3 but im not sure where else stable is used... can you elaborate?
q5: you have a fair point actually... but its at 0% by default so hope that helps
q6: think of instincts like simple logic code... basically "if this then do this"... but yes i agree that it feels underdeveloped for advanced things like that... and colours do feel a bit wonky rn... hm... maybe also a thing could be added for seeing specific body plans could work one day?
Thank you for the response (:
Sorry, I have another question. Lol, how do I make a functioning ecosystem, creatures and plants die almost immediately.
Maybe idk how to config my planet but I swear these settings aren't that extreme. So, most settings are low to medium on the slider at least for wind and temp and the creatures and plants say they can survive but however don't either make offspring or just die for random reasons.
Thank you for the response. (:
In scenarios, my plants and ecosystem do perfectly fine. I beat all but 1 so far. Haven't tried the Ice Age one yet.
The only recommendation I have for how to make the game easier to understand would be, maybe a guide in the main menu or something to help understand the icons and understand how to make a functioning ecosystem. I still don't have a clue how to make an ecosystem that doesn't kill all my animals within the first 20 years. Despite me having plants and animals and whatnot that I thought would work.
About light stability, it just means that plants can or not use the color (which means the plant will have the color when you see it if it is unstable) , whatever the level. if you put green not stable, it means the plant will be some shade of green (because green will not be consumed, so send back) . if you put every light to unstable, plants will not be able to consume any light and will dye if you try to add them to your world.
Under the poison type (with A, B and C, i think you got it) you have a slider. when completely to the left, it is not poisonous. When completely to the right, it is fully poisonous. Same for poison resistance.
If you want a successfull ecosystem, first make sure your plants/animals can have offspring (that they have enough fruits/eggs do not get eaten and do not take too long to hatch) . I think you already know that they need to survive themselves.
Also when you are trying to make an ecosystem, do not add every single creatures at the same time. put the colonist plants first (the plants that can survive almos everywhere and prepare the terrain for other lifeforms. Then begin to add colonists animals (like animals that live only to get replaced later, the time to help other plants to spread and the generalists that can already be put down) . You can then begin to add the definitives plants and animals who are going to make the specialists and complete the ecosystem. You better do this way to make sure when you add more specialists species or even just animals, that they have a sufficiently big food source so it does not get completely eaten up and the species starve themselves to death.
Hope it have been usefull, but if you need more advises, send screenshots and describe the situation in a specific world.
Thank you for the response I will try out what you said(hopefully it goes well lol(I think part of the reason I mess up a lot of planets is due to how I configure them tbh, and I also think I don't add enough of plant variety before I start making land species because I always end up killing off only the land species and sometimes the aquatic species))
Try making a new one, and if life still do not work, send screenshots on a new topic, and explain what you tried.
