Can you play single-player offline?
Also... Does multiplayer need their servers to play?
As in, if they stop all support let's say in a year... can me and a friend still play it on Steam?

And I know it's a service game, but I never did get an answer long ago on if you could play this game offline or not.
It might be $4, which I say is a willing price I'll play before it's delisted, but I'm not sure I'm willing to spend $4 if I have no clue if and/or when they cut all support completely for the game.

So you can play offline? And also P2P with friends?
Is there any matchmaking or is multiplayer only for you and "friends"?

This. I want a little confirmation before I put money in this that I could probably put elsewhere.

I'm pretty sure you can. The online is needed for the end game content because they mix and match rewards, missions types, rotate events, etc. Also purchased skins, etc. are needed.

You should be able to play the campaign offline and at least a base set of end game missions.

Give it a shot and let us know. Worse case you just refund if it doesn't work.

So the end game cannot be played offline at all? Because unless I misunderstood it, the best loot comes only from that mode.

Some of it can. But not the high level stuff because you can't run the Raid or high level missions offline.

They have high level Legendary type sets for each hero that's tied to events as well.

But honestly, that loot is overkill for all but the Raid and like 3 other missions. Sure you can create a Hulk build that one shots a boss with a thunderclap, but you don't need it.

That Live Service portion is what this game screwed up. For most of the first year, I could run all the hardest content with random gear, random AI teammates, etc. That's why I keep telling people it's best to just play this game like a single player game with some extra missions you can play after the campaign...like DLC in a Spider-man game or something.

All that said, the Raid is VERY good. Highly recommend playing it at least once. Its a traditional Raid in every sense of the word with some great teamwork areas, etc. and mechanics. And it completes the Wakanda Story.

I thought that delisting the game made all live service portion of the game and content being affordable and playable offline, will this online portion be shut down/unplayable?

I'm asking this because from what I understand. the game has no server whatsoever and multiplayer is P2P based, hence why I find odd that this portion of gameplay is strictly online.

Will the SP only loot obtainable still being able to make you a custom build? Usually in games ala diablo, grim dawn, nioh and so on, what I like about hardest difficulty are all the nice sets and builds you can make, which may turn a somewhat okay skill in something very awesome to use and so on, but I fear that the online only content may have those sets/gear locked outside of my reach.

So since it is a raid, I believe it works as MMO/RPG raids in which you cannot do it alone? I'm asking since I'm a solo player, and I tried raids on borderlands 2 and found them awful (in single player obviously).

It seems the multiplayer will be unaffected. So the missions should still be there.

SP is a bit relative. You don't have to play with friends on all but the Raid and a few missions. The rest can be played with AI team mates, dropping gear as usual.

There are two build components:
- Hero skill trees. There are 4 tabs of skills per hero. 50 skills to unlock, two tabs where you pick specializations. How you specialize is a big deal on your builds. The 4th tab unlocks after you unlock the 50 skills and provides various minor stat boosts as you continue to gain XP (crit damage, health, defense, etc.)

- Gear. The gear that drops has random affixes that you may or may not want to keep. Get the right affixes, and you can greatly enhance your skills, damage, etc. Purple and legendary gear should still be available offline. its the unique special gear like from Raids, etc. that wont be available.

No you have to raid with matchmaking or friends. There are at least two other high level missions that also require matchmaking or friends. Everything else can be played with AI team mates.

I see, thanks. One last question: I take that the unique special gear is even better than legendary ones Does it make really a big difference?

Not necessarily. Some of the best builds use Purple or Legendary gear. It depends on the affixes.

The unique sets are Exotic level gear. Some are really not good at all. Others are really good:
- Raid gear has sonic synergy between the items
- Heroic Exotics boost specific hero abilites, etc. You get these from special events.
- Hive Exotics are ok as I recall.
- There's another I can't think of that is an instant sell. Never used a single piece of it.

Keep in mind, most content is not challenging enough to require good gear. Only the Raid and a few other missions. Everything else is very casual in difficulty. Not that you won't die, but standard gear is more than adequate.

I see, thanks. I plan to main ironman and trying out a hulkbuster build out of fun, hopefully the gear obtainable in SP will be enough for that.

I'm going to buy it I like the idea of having a game you can't normal get anymore. four dollar isn't a huge wast of money I'll skip a day of buying a candy and soda
