It's not an MMO, it's a peer to peer hosted co-op game. You play it with other people through Steam invites.
There are Steam & Discord groups for the game as well, you will find groups there the fastest if you don't have a group of friends to play the game with.
Here are couple of such Steam groups:
https://steamcommunity.com/chat/invite/nQWsqu5B
https://steamcommunity.com/chat/invite/DIwKzxjS
For an example
To The Dark And Back Again: Complete 50 Hive Missions (17/50)
Treasure Trove: Open 50 Caches Strongboxes (3/50)
Holding It Down: Complete 30 War Zones at Challenge III or higher rating (1/30)
These few achievements I listed (there are more) will get there progress reset when the weeklies do in-game, for whatever reason (glitch in programming/coding). If you cannot obtain the full number required to unlock within that said time, the weekly refresh resets peoples progress and you have to start again.
I myself 100% this game within months of when it originally came out, yet those numbers at the end of each one represents my current progress towards each achievement, even though I've already achieved them. Even if you unlock the achievement, it messes with progress count...but they still remained unlocked.
