Can you no longer play the game from the beginning?

I own the game for PS4 and PS5 and I played it when it first came out. Now after all the updates I tried to play again, only even after deleting the save data the game just takes me through a set of movies I watch which were all just gameplay before.

What is going on? Did they remove all of that? Did they change it? I wanted to play from the beginning again, unlocking everything. Is that no longer possible?

I'm placed on the helicarrier with all the avengers around me, I have no idea how to start a mission or anything. It doesn't make any sense at all. I'm completely lost and would appreciate any help i can get with this.

If you meant to re/play the campaign, simply go back to main menu and select operations.

I finally figured it out. It's a huge mess. Now you have to play Tony Stark's holodeck training before you can even access the war table to even do anything. Then even finding the campaign is hidden within a convoluted mess of nonsense within the table and options.

I mean the game was bad when i originally played it, but whatever they did when they patched the game to what it is now is just an even worse. I was hoping that between launch day and end of life patching they made it better.

I cannot even begin to understand the choices the developers made in the interim.

No, you didn't quite figure it out. What happened is that you clicked a button(Play Now) in the main menu which skips the campaigns and takes you into the post-campaign endgame mode.

You are supposed to click the "Operations" button instead.

The Operations can be accessed through the War Table as you found out, but you can also go back to the main menu and select the campaigns from there.

"Play Now" used to be called "The Initiative" and "Operations" used to be "Campaign," these were renamed a while ago and it's been tricking people ever since.

yeahh.... this game is an all around mess
trying to fig out where to go when i first started and having the game show me cutscenes from the entire story spoiling everything cause i clicked play now.... non surprised they cut this game short and canned it already.
that being said, playing as Kamala was amazing!!!
shes a huge NERD! and i would not have it any other way

yeahh.... this game is an all around mess

This option to skip the story campaign was always there, the buttons just used to be named better.

So then if I wipe the settings/profile/save game, and I want to start the game without any content being revealed and being able to start the game in the very beginning. Where you start as a young Kamala Khan and go from there.

What do i need to do specifically, because I never clicked anything that said, "skip" or start end game or anything like that. I just want to start from the very beginning the same way I could when the game was 1.0

Main Menu > Operations > Part 1: Reassemble

Before selecting a given campaign, you also have the option to press R and reset campaign progress, so using that option you can always play the main story line or any of the 3 DLC campaigns over again.
