Need Suggestions, Please
I am confused, should I buy this game or not? I don't know will it be available to purchase after September, But The Definitive Edition is on huge sale now. So, I am partially thinking to buy it, but I'm also thinking if I buy this game, will I be able to play this game after September or next year or after 5 - 6 years? And will it be in my Steam Library for life time, like can I install or uninstall it any time, right?

So, suggest me Guys, should I buy this or not? PLEASE

Thanks in advance

You might have to do things in the future to make the game run on a Future OS, aka past win 11. Some old games have issues running, others don't, it really all depends.

They said Co-op is not going away at this time, but i'm not sure if it will eventually disappear or not. Does it use servers or is it a peer to peer? if its the latter then it would work. Single player will work for as long as you have a system that can run it.

I didn't say that, I just said it's possible, that there is an update after the game goes dark that there could be a windows update that causes issues that you might need to tweak yourself.

Beyond win 11, who knows. For example games from the late 90's and early 00's sometimes have issues where you need to run them in Dos Box, or add the Voodoo workaround. GoG for example is a company that often does the magic for you and they actually fix old games so players don't have to. (it's why i have a lot of GOG copies of games and double check anything over than 2005 to see if it has issues on steam)

I totally agree with you, and who knows if backwards compatibility will be better or worse in the future. For newer PC gamers, i just rather them have a little knowledge about that sort of thing so if in 5 years the game stops running the person doesn't say.. But i was told it would work for ever!

More than likely there will be work around. Still i can't seam to get Mech warrior 4 running even doing all the tricks others say work. I know others can but i always seam to have issues with those games. In fact i have an old win 2k machine that is used just to play Mech 3-4 and mech commander 1-2, because the blasted games are always getting borked on my newer comp. It's also why i still hold out hope one day GOG will get the rights to sell them, or better yet, a REMASTER! But that is a whole other topic.

The OP shouldn't worry about any of this for a while though, id say at the very least it should work through win 11's cycle which has no sunset date yet maybe around 2030m, the OS's seam to go for about 10 years.
