No, those are DNA Chests which are only able to be opened with a DNA Key.
A Cache Strongbox is a chest that is found in a SHIELD Cache.
The War Table rework changed how Vaults are handled. You used to unlock Vault locations using a tracker to locate a SHIELD Cache which would have a few Cache Strongboxes along with Vault Coordinates. These were on specific maps such as "Our Town"; "Stark Realities"; and "Day of the Remains".
Now, those locations are gone since Vaults are acquired from Daily Assignments are well as just readily available on the War Table. I do know there is a SHIELD Cache as one of the objectives during the Future Wastelands mission, "The U In Funeral".
The Future Wastelands mission from the War Table called "The U In Funeral" has a SHIELD Cache. It is definitely set up the same as how it used to be under the old system to obtain Vault Coordinates. You can't miss it since it's scripted as one of the objectives. See if it counts.
The issue here is most of the information found online is outdated and no longer applies since the War Table rework changed how Vaults are handled. You used to never just have them available on the War Table or acquire them from accepting Daily Missions from the SHIELD Faction. If you had Vaults on your War Table, it was because you unlocked the Coordinates to them from SHIELD Caches hidden within those three missions I listed.
Okay, so if I understand this correctly you're reporting that the objective in "The U In Funeral" where you access a hidden location to acquire Kree schematics where there is also a Strongbox nearby doesn't count as opening a SHIELD Cache?
I can't confirm what counts anymore since I already got the Achievement long before the changes. I only know what used to count and that was the three missions I mentioned earlier: "our Town"; "Stark Realities"; and "Day of the Remains".
Odd. I see it. And yes, Our Town does too, but it takes more time that Stark Realities, for me anyway.
"Our Town"; "Stark Realities"; and "Day of the Remains" were always the ones that did count as SHIELD Caches towards the Achievement.
It is good to know that "The U In Funeral" doesn't count. I wondered if it might since it is discovered and set up the same way with the only difference being it is unmissable since it's a scripted objective. I've already opened 50 Cache Strongboxes so I can't prove or disprove anything. Understand I was not trying to spread misinformation. I was hoping it could be used an alternative since with the War Table rework, those other missions don't always appear as often.
I have seen "Our Town" and "Stark Realities" as the Priority Mission frequently enough over the weeks but it has been a long time since I've noticed "Day of the Remains" on the War Table. People found "Day of the Remains" desirable since it has two SHIELD Caches.
As for the "Investing in the Future" Achievement, since they made changes to the gear system, the only thing you can still upgrade are the Major Artifacts. Upgrading one to level 10 should work.
