Why is this game so boring?
This feels like a mobile game made to high quality. The story is cool enough, some of the features are cool. Though there are no real options with abilities, there are no real combos or style points to accent the button mashing. Why is every mission protect this, destroy this? This is so basic and boring. Why can't I explore an actual area with the characters? The ceiling is to low, the playing options are to few, the mission types aren't enough and just make the game feel repetitive and unlike other grinding games like Monster Hunter World for example, there is no scenery or other parts of the game to get absorbed into. It just feels like a child bashing toys together. Why not do something like Witcher 3 and give separate maps to explore and are less contained. The "power" the hero's give you feels generic and so long as you mash hard and fast enough you'll win. You don't feel super in the game is my point. Why not allow people to gather material to make their own suit or needed to upgrade equipment. The game just overall feels aimless other than hit this go here and find this. Why not allow people to gain the powers of other suits. I.E. iron mans ultimate suit, red hulk, world breaker...etc. There are many things you could do to make this way better but I can't even force myself to play anymore as i just get so bored to the point where I've literally fallen asleep while playing but changed games and was awake. That effect should not happen. You worried so much about making a movie you forgot to make a game.

If you would've read on to get the full context you might've realized I was stating that they feel simple and repetitive and doesn't make you feel super...as you know a super hero game should do. I also stated that the repetitive nature takes away from what it could be. Though yes critique something you've not the full context to, that is standard internet behavior right? It was a wall of text because I stated problems and solutions.

Square Enix are pro boring game designers. Last 3 Tomb Raiders are exceptionally boring survival games, then there is boring Marvel Avengers and Outriders - none of them have playable / fun multiplayer (Outriders simply wipe characters once glitched in multiplayer).

I guess it's a cultural thing when a company can't release a single fun game in a decade.

Superhero games fall into a pretty wide selection of sub-categories, of which only one is actually "superhero simulator."

Most of the other categories are indeed like more complex versions of smashing dolls or action figures together. Even the Ninja Turtles NES games are superhero games if we go way back, and usually superhero games tend to be fairly arcade action button smashers of one sort or another.

From what I understand, Sony's PS4 Spider-Man from 2018 successfully blends some superhero simulation with arcade brawling combat and this is what made it so fun to play.

MA is a couple steps simpler game from that and mainly features just the combat part as the main focus with a high quality single player story campaign, though not as detailed as that of the 2018 Spider-Man. It is a trade-off between including multiplayer and not.

You aren't wrong at all about the repetition in the game being a bit too much, it is the main flaw of the Initiative mode especially. It should get better over time though, the roadmap already includes new additions to the skill trees and some more variety to the Initiative mode.

This game is the amalgamation of what mobile games are doing to the gaming industry.
You can smell it the moment you are past the campaign. Seriously just imagine your screen is a cellphone and it all starts making sense.
Boring and repetitive enemies and the map boundaries are all thought out to fit the cellphone's hardware. Get it now?
This is what SquareEnix wanted. A game that they could eventually put on your phone with minimum effort.
It's honestly an embarassment to both the companies that made this game but it's the casuals that give the most money.
So they'll aim for them and you end up with this mess that's not even using half your PC.
I wish i could get my money back or have SquareEnix go through what CDProjekt is still facing. Public shame.

Clearly, these types of games aren't for you. Move on...

I actually enjoy the game quite a bit; but yeah, now I'm entering end-game content and am wondering what's really there to do. I mean can someone explain to me what I'm shooting for beside higher level gear and outfits? What do you, you keep on leveling up so you can do higher levels? Can someone explain to me what am I supposed to do end-game? Game like Destiny, I know what I'm working towards, but here it feels a bit vague. I know Wakanda update is supposed to bring new stuff, hopefully high level raids. I'm not hating, looking for why I should keep playing.

Borderlands and Destiny and all the looter ilk have ruined gamers. I miss the days when an arcadey action game didn't need to be anything else, and it was OK if it was repetitive because you were playing it to beat up bad guys, not to level up and get that uber weapon you've been wanting.

Oh, haha, yeah... I just realized now after almost 20 hours of gameplay that you can rotate the war map. xD ROFL

I hope you mean their latest game, because that one is going down the drain for how bad it is.
Borderlands 1 and 2 were actually good. As for Destiny. Can't even compare.
It was a terrible game from day 1 and Destiny 2 gets boring after 10h of gameplay.
But those are FPS so they don't really count. Or compare.
The only thing they have in common is their both aimed at casuals. People that dont have the "time" to play a game. Even though they bought it. . . so it's a mad man's paradox.
Why buy a game you don't have time to play? It's seriously mental.

I mean the entire idea of random loot games tbh.

They've spoiled all the gamer community so nobody can be satisfied with a simple arcade brawler anymore.

Probably a good idea OP to break up that wall of text you got there. It makes for much easier reading.

My problem with the game is insane lack of variety when it comes to bad guys and mission goals. Most (I said most not all) games I have played over the last 20 years are light years ahead in both categories and what is scary is some of those games also have a lack of bad guys and mission variety as well. Just no where to the extent of this game.

A key component to this game is supposed to be multiplayer yet the game is designed around single player. I think the game itself has a bit of an identity crisis.

What was done is super high quality. Problem is there just isn't enough of a game here for me to do anything more than just play the short campaign story lines and move on. The carrot at the end of the stick for endgame content is almost non existent.

What kills me is the problems this game has seem to be the easiest to fix from a developer stand point. They don't need to reinvent the wheel here. Adding more bad guys and a larger pool of mission goals, throw in some good end game carrots to earn and you would have a big winner here.

Not only spoiled, but conditioned as well. Too many skinner box games which make the player either put in 5+ hours a day or open up their wallet. People get addicted to these and then a game like Marvel's Avengers doesn't offer them their favourite drug all of a sudden. Response is negative, demands for it to go F2P and therefore increase the grind follow as we've seen.

Yea, I can break it up np. My overall point was this game is a jumbled mess trying to do to many things at once which takes away from something they could've made great. I spend a lot of time playing games like Rust, MHW, tactical games, and DMC. Games of this likening. Either the game needed to be bigger to accommodate all the different systems and open up maps or they need to narrow focus on mechanics and things.

You don't pay 60$ to go to the arcade or to even buy arcade games (of course expectations are higher) Especially following up a game like Spider-man as that becomes the expectation. The goals in the game are unclear and pointless, the battles offer no variety, same with the missions. There are no intricate move sets, no points to the skins (as they should offer different things). Really this game feels like a movie but with game elements added. The game seems like it wants to be this huge thing that gives freedom but then gives none.

I'm not ripping on the company or anything like that. I'm simply stating there are elements that make a game good and bad. You as a company when designing these games need to think of how everything has evolved. That or stick to elements within your niche. You can't just smash a bunch of cool effects together with a limited system to support it.

Seriously you've made some of the best games ever, whomever you've directing, playtesting etc is ♥♥♥♥ and you need to replace them immediately. Also, I'm totally down with the unfinished product bit but if you gunna sell at full price you need to have a complete game and add updates etc later not the other way around. It's only acceptable if you are trying new wide spread systems that need the data prior to release to fix the bugs.

I don't mind grinds, wipes, skins etc as a whole but you need to figure out what the people want or expect prior. You could've done this by paying attention to games like MHW, Spider-man, Rust or countless others. I will use MHW because it was a complete game then was added to and still is to this day. It has a system that supports change, exploration, story, ascetics. Games like dying like that have complex battle systems but is still essentially a beat em up with the exploration added in.

Point is this game has none of that, this feels like a movie. There are no options in story or exploration. The battle system is limited as well as missions, enemy types and so forth.

TLDR: This game could be good but Square Enix ♥♥♥♥♥♥ it up hardcore.

Because the devs spend every working moment trying to figure how to sell heroes skins, re-skins, re-re-skins, re-coloured-skins.
Instead of trying to figure out how to make the combat more fun and engaging.
Square Enix biggest failure was choosing Crystal Dynamics as the developers, if they choose Platinum Games, this game wouldn't be the sorry mess it currently is.
