Omega-Level Threat (Family Reunion Guide)
I have tried to solo the Super Adaptoid, after the team quits, but I could only get it to about 50% due to the heroic draining, knockback turrets that keep spawning. One of the big issues with this mission, are people playing fragile-built heroes. Unfortunately, there is no guide or current meta to handle this type of event. So I am providing this information and 2 gear pieces that drop from DNA chests because their perk wording are unorthodox.

Cosmic Surge heals you and recharges ALL of your heroics (extremely fast). When you have an activation on taking damage, with a good level of proficiency, you will find tachyon drain trivial. Each time you get pinged by the environment, Cosmic Surge is there to negate the damage and recharge your heroics.

Jarvis Barrier will negate environmental effects as well, absorbing the damage instead of losing willpower. But it will not prevent you from gaining a Cosmic Surge buff from taking damage. With each ping of tachyon, Jarvis Barrier may activate to shield you from all damage.

With just these 2 perks and 50+ proficiency, you will feel a bit like you are in God Mode. Cosmic Surge will also make Thor so unbelievably potent, if you are playing a Valor build. During tachyon type missions, I self-appoint myself in collecting Tachyon Orbs because everyone I seem to get grouped with, neglects the timer and we end up failing. I am fine with doing this since I never really lose health while running around getting orbs due to my perks.

Rescuing allies will be your first team challenge. You need to have one person deactivate the generator while having rangers on either side of the pod to hit the locks. The generator can only be deactivated for 3 seconds. This is enough time for a solo player to deactivate it and hit 2 locks but not enough time to hit all 4.

The war bot is nothing special, it is pretty much a standard ground mech boss. The one person collecting Tachyon Orbs should double up on reviving but should not focus on the mech because the orbs are widely spread out. You only get +8 seconds and it often takes about 5-6 seconds to sprint to each orb. Except for Hulk, he could jump to each orb in about 2-3 seconds but you really would like hulk on the mech. When you have a lot of people going down on this fight, it should be an early indicator for the success of the mission.

The Shrine Room.
This is the room leading to the final boss fight with the Time Bridge. Shrines are a game mechanic that forces a player to stand at its location to capture it to your control. They are also referred to as capture nodes. The shrine around the Time Bridge requires a player to stand inside it throughout this phase of the mission. If a player exits it and no other player is there to maintain its control, the process is reset to the beginning. Around the center shrine are numbered shrines. Each tier of this phase, three in total, requires the players to activate the number shrines in a specific order. One person needs to stay in at the Center shrine, one person needs to focus on Orbs while the other two members focus on foes and the number shrine sequence.

On to the Super Adaptoid fight itself.
This boss is really not that hard. The above perks will help considerably and help to keep you upright while you are in a confined area reviving a downed team member. Keep in mind, when someone does go down, you lose access to TWO team members because, obviously, one is on the ground and the other is running in circles in the revive bubble. Equipping the AoE Revive function for support abilities (if you have the option) is necessary for this boss fight. This allows you to instantly revive multiple member and you did not have to stop, merely a drive by revival. A group should always have at least 1 Kamala for her healing spirit which is also an AoE revival skill. At least one person in the group should self appoint themselves as a reviving team member.

There are points within this mission where your visual display goes to a gray scale. A shield bubble will spawn somewhere in the room. You will have about 10 seconds to get to it or you will suffer an instant death. There is no level of damage prevention or immunity that will save you from this, it is a guaranteed death.

The boss splits into four lesser health clones, killing each will then resume the boss fight, but each clone can trigger a gray display so it is imperative that you drop the clones fast.

Turrets, these things make this fight difficult. At least one member of the group should focus on clearing them. Each clone can summon turrets (personally, I cannot solo this boss because of the turrets, I cannot kill them fast enough when the boss splits as a result my heroics are constantly drained or I cannot evade efficiently enough to get to the safety bubble on the gray display). If a turret is inside a bubble, it can push you out, to be instantly killed. Turrets cannot hit you while you are in the bubble however. As said before these turrets both knock you back as well as drain your heroic energy. Hulk and Thunder Clap makes this boss fight trivial since Hulk could keep the turrets clear with his heroic or his PBAoE ground bashing (Using his Jump and then charging F as Hulk falls will ensure the F, F+F+F+F+F combo).

These are really the main points to this mission. The boss likes to move around so if you use Widow's Bite, change it to stick to the target so you get maximum effect. Take precautions with your fighting position; if you are a ranger be mindful of the shield. Look out for the hammer, the boss likes to pin you with it then activates gray display. Stealth works on the turrets but not the boss.

I may edit as I find additional tips for this mission.

This ISO-8 is unorthodox because of activation on taking damage, also because of Cosmic Surge.

This gear is unorthodox because Jarvis Barrier activates on taking damage. It can be found in "Last Avenger Standing".

After completing my OLT run, my exotics were underwhelming. But I looked at gear from other people's drops, the Attributes are the same as Legendary and the Omega Perks are terrible. one example is:

X% chance killing an enemy afflicted with Cryo damage grants a defense buff.

Why would anyone want this when we currently have:

X% chance killing an enemy grants a defense buff.

For now, don't worry about completing this mission chain if you cannot get a good group before it expires. There is a lot of work for such a small reward.

I tried the Cosmic Surge perk. I have 2 of the same perks though. I wonder if that means the higher % perk cancels the lower % or does it mean 2 chances at different %.

My current gear doesn't include the Jarvis Barrier, but Cosmic Surge was still a game changer for OTL. My Ms. Marvel has less defensive stats than my Hulk who almost died to one Unibeam but she somehow resisted a larger amount of hits. The defense boost from Cosmic Charge and willpower regen from Cosmic Surge were constantly on.

Here's a successful 3 person OLT run. I saved the group several times at the boss thanks to Cosmic Surge, Cosmic Charge, and Support Heroic.

Let's assume you have 5% chance invulnerability on melee critical hit and the same perk at 9.5% (this won't ever be the case because they are both linked to Perk 1 on Melee gear) but for argument sake let's assume it is possible.

When you land a critical hit, you will get TWO roles on 1-1000. Your DC (difficulty chance) is a 50 and a 95. Proficiency will added to your DC with about 90 in the attribute will grant you a +200 to DC. So if you role 251 and 285, you will fail on the first but success on the second and get the buff.

This was why you experienced it to always be on because your probability of the perk proc'ing was exponentially increased.

Thanks for validating my guide. I watched your video, and you played Kamala perfectly as I had noted in my guide. You focused on reviving and taking out turrets during the boss fight. Cosmic Surge is one of the most amazing buffs available for boss fights and tachyon environmental effects.

Cosmic Surge has multiple flavors on perk conditions. I find that since the duration of the buff is consistent with every type of perk. When it procs while in effect, it refreshes the timer.

Taking Damage is from DNA Chests (ISO-8)
Killing Enemies is from DNA Chests (ISO-8)
Critical Hits from OLT Exotics Reward (Gloves and Ranged Arms)
After Combo from OLT Exotics Reward (Gloves and Ranged Arms)
After Status Combo OLT Exotics Reward (Gloves and Ranged Arms)
Defensive conditions OLT Exotics Reward (Belt)

Bumping this with advice for the Hostage section.

- Deactivating the containment cells of the hostages immediately despawns the endless enemies in that section so just ignore enemies whenever you can.

- Only fight to reduce their numbers enough to make it easier but don't focus on enemies. They're never ending, so focus on the cell.

- Don't fight close to the trigger unless you're actually trying to hit it with melee and at least one teammate is on one side. Melee combat may activate the trigger when someone isn't in position.

- If someone else is hitting the trigger, go to an unoccupied side and prepare to activate the switches.

- If you're hitting the trigger, look carefully where your teammates are standing and go to the opposite side of the containment cell.

I wish I could even do the mission since I can't ever find a team and sit in matchmaking for half hour to eventually give up.

Try changing your Download Region in the Steam settings. It's a small nuisance to restart Steam every time you switch regions if you don't find a decent one, but it's worth it for multiplayer if you're really intent on finding random groups.

I'm in the Mid West, but I don't play on the mid west servers. In mid day, I recommend either the west coast (Los Angeles) or the east coast (New York). After midnight in the very early morning hours, I tend to play on the London location since it's their day time hours. You have to switch regions to where most of the world is awake.

That's one of the main issues of the game. People complete it once right after reset and then there is no real reason to do it again until next week.

While that is generally true, Until next month, you can get OLT and Mega Hive rewards THREE times in a single week.

Cosmic Surge and Jarvis barrier. Any good methods to farm for those perks?
Xarko Aug 20, 2021 @ 1:07pm
Jarvis is pretty common for Hivemind set
