Kamala Khan killed this game.
Had it been any of the classic Avengers starring the game, I would have bought it. But not with Kamala in a million years. And I can't be the only one.

Yeah, if only the game had featured such classic Avengers as Hulk, Iron-Man, Thor, Captain America, Black Widow and Hawkeye as playable characters, it would have been much better, right? Black Panther too, he's big in the MCU. But man, what were they thinking? ;)

You do know her main role story wise is to be the reason the group reforms after A-Day right? Its not that she is the star, she is just the plot devise to get the team back together. Could they have used a different character? Yes, but Kamala was the one chosen for that role.

And she was chosen well. There is no other Marvel character who represents us all who got into Marvel comics as kids, as well as Kamala does.

That's a bit of a stretch...no pun intended...since I bet a lot of people playing are from older generations as well (like myself) but among teen heroes she decent choice. some could Sam (Nova) would be good options, other could say Miles, while other could say an orginal character could have been an option. Other could say any number of adult heroes could be good options, the teen route is just the easiest to implement.

I thought the character was poorly served at times by the story not allowing for enough time between her teen girl moments and her development as a superhero. Both parts were done fine, in my opinion, just jarred a few times when running into each other. I didn't come away from the campaign disliking her, nor did it put me off playing because I had a few missions where I had to be her until I got the two characters I really want to level up.

Think this is where a true single player would have been better then a live serves model. Gives more time for character development, rather then a tutorial style rush that unlocks the characters.

Its why a long time back I made a post saying in a purely mechanical, kamala has one of the best power sets for a superhero game (if you count all her normal comic powers ex: she can shrink as well as grow or can become flat) Think the only downside is Kamala's rouge gallery is rather...pathetic. Not enough villains that have a serious tone. But power wise she has everything needed for traversal, puzzle solving, combat and stealth.

Franklin Richards used to be the inner kid of Marvelites, but he was always a bit too young until the recent skip to a teenager. But Kamala is a fangirl, an actual comic book nerd, while Franklin just played with the toys as a kid. His powerset was based on the imaginary games of little kids too, literally creating worlds of adventure.

There are plenty of Young Avengers of course where a character could have been picked from, Kate Bishop is one of them too, but none of them are comic book nerds like Kamala. The story of the game just makes her so damn relatable.

With other characters of her generation they would have needed to go with a different angle altogether, missing out on the comic book fan stuff entirely.

I dont like kamala to play her in "endgame" activities but for me her story mode was really good and entertaining

I absolutely 100% disagree.

To be honest, shes one of my favorite characters in the game. I loved following her story (the main campaign I thought was phenomenal), and I genuinely enjoy playing her.

SHE feels like a super hero vs ... Bow character #1, Bow Character #2...

They also have a collection of scarfs and berets!

And cool sunglasses.

But yeah, not every superhero is a superhuman and it's important that we have this variety.

I went into the game unsure, but by halfway thru the campaign I was sold. Good story, great voice acting, and enjoyable interactions with the other characters. Besides, you do get to play at the other Avengers even in campaign so I'm not sure what the big deal is.

The deal is that there are people on the internet who hate Kamala Khan, it's just one hate trend among many others. And a lot of people want to be sheep who follow trends. Reading her books and actually finding out how well she's written isn't a trend, so relatively few people ever find out she's one of the best new superheroes from Marvel in a long time.

wouldn't have picked up my first ever comic book and get into the world of comics if it wasn't for Kamala being introduced to me in this game... :steammocking:
